Currently, we are temporarily imposing login restriction on the players whose "End Date" is September 29, 2012 or before due to congestion. The restriction may be lifted when the congestion is eased.

The other players are able to log in to the game.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

Don't worry, nobody can log into Balmung at all at the moment, even those of us who were playing an hour ago.

From the sounds of it, you guys won't be the only people not able to see the final event; server crashes are occurring worldwide from the sounds of it. Lobby server is down too, so nobody will be able to get back in.

I was logged in up to 30mins ago, sitting patiently by the Camp Brittlebark camp fire...then bam. I'm out :/

Hoping they work it out before impact at least...

The smart thing to do would to have just slapped together a cutscene, and then have a "Closing Movie" option in the login page that people could log in and view for the next 72 hours.

Same, was in and out all day getting free relics. Bout an hour ago just camped out close to Brittlebark, found myself DC'd and unable to get back in.

You'd think SE would have learned about congestion after 10 years of FFXI and the Market Wards (<.<)

Well I guess that's it then...

Logged in and selected character and was told my service has now expired, and nothing can be changed on the FFXIV Service Account Page. It's all static now. What a sad way to go...for so many.

Yeah, I think this is going to be a bust for them. Another one. Not a good note to transition on.

wow, way to ruin the good will I was feeling, just tried to log on to see the end and got the "sorry you didn't pay" message... yeah. Why even bother saying we could be there if you don't have your crap together SE? Seriously.

No really. What utter horse manure.

I mean I can understand "paying customers first" but - um, the fact that they couldn't see this coming is a huge red flag for me. If they had a limited entry to begin with (paying customers plus the first 500 non payers to log in once "free for all" service resumed) - I wouldn't be so annoyed...

But I had actually decided to drop what I was doing to see this - and then to get a giant middle finger - welp - that doesn't bode well for the future.

This stream has had some success logging in, but is out right now. The dialogue has been pretty funny though, and there are almost 800 people viewing:

Got back in.

Started beating on some Imperial Guy.

...and back out.

I say even through 2 server closings on FFXI with all the people either in Whitegate/Jeuno/Selbina, I don't think I know of anyone that DC'd during that. Right up to the point of getting kicked out at the deadline.

Nevermind. Sometimes the FF community really irritates me. Time for bed apparently.

The problem is everybody I knew who got immediately booted *was* a paying customer. The servers just aren't able to handle the load at this point regardless of the non-paying players being on or not.

I just got booted for a third time, and I'm not going to stick around for a fourth. I invite anybody who still thinks that 2.0 will come around quickly and orgasmically to ponder tonight.

Of course, why would anyone be upset that a company that had already burned them multiple times, and a game that is looking to build trust lured them into participating a once only forever event, and then it was so unstable they weren't allowed to log in, or were booted multiple times?

All while JP seem to be able to play flawlessly. Why would we think that doesn't bode well for the future?

Why would those of us who dropped what we were doing to participate be disappointed that instead of making a splash and getting people excited about the future, SE is making itself into a laughing stock?

I suppose we should, after EVERYTHING - the WHOLE XIV MESS (a game so bad they have to remake the whole thing) we're supposed to forgive them for not even being able to handle blowing up the game in a non-embarrassing way?

Olo, I'm in Japan on a JP client and I will tell you....we are not playing flawlessly. There's a 30+ page thread going on right now about not being able to get in. Same complaints we are having.

The server stability is affecting everyone.

correction: JP stream just got booted now too.

Oh Klaus, posted that before I saw your post. I just got that impression after watching a JP stream for the last 20 mins... and I've been watching an NA stream -try- to log in with no luck for the last hour.
