The music!

I haven't played FFXI in years, but this song has always stuck with me. I made a DnB remix to bring people back to those cherished times. I'm sharing it here because it'll just fade into the void of the internet by tomorrow.

Hope you FFXI vets like Manaburn! modusmusic.bandcamp.com/track/manaburn

P.S. Can you pick out the spell effects?

Sanctuary of Zi'tah was always my favorite music.

I liked the song itself, but it doesn't really sound like or remind me of Zitah music at all.

That was pretty psychedelic. Kind of gave me a Daft Punk vibe. I like the way that spell in the beginning transitions into the electronica, and the fadeout was perfectly timed for the song to finish strong. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It is a pretty liberal remix, so I can understand your problem there, Runespider. It's just too far from the original in some ways. This taru continues to live and learn.

Yeah, I really like that one. Uematsu's FFXI score rocks.

A bit slow for D'nB and doesn't remind me of Zi'tah really. I do like it though and I appreciate your talent.

I always liked the music of XI and enjoy the various music projects that developed as a result. Not sure if you'd heard of him of if anyone here has heard of him for that matter, but DJ Plaeskool was always a fave. I've got a huge library of XI music that I listen to all the time, but I always check in on this guy and he uses a lot of different games and anime for inspiration.

Check it out here (scroll down and click 'FFXI Remix Player')

There are also some tracks not listed there that you can find on youtube. The pulse of water is a personal fave just because I really liked Sea.

Actually the three sounds are Blizzard, Sneak, and the generic casting sound. The casting sound made for a neat buildup and it's probably the most memorable soundbite from when I played.

Good ear! DnB is typically 170+ BPM, and mine is comfortably at 155. Some producers these days are slowing the tempo back down to 150+ circa 1995 but not that many.

Thanks for sharing those remixes. I really like "Crossing the [S]avanna" and some others. Very chill, artistic tracks, more reminiscent of FFXI's style. In return, I've gotta mention Tweex's recent Land of Vana'diel album. It's an orchestral re-interpretation of a whole mess of tracks. Harvest of Rock and Stone and City of Bastok are so, so good. Highly recommend.

That's really solid as a straightforward trance remix. Thanks, downloaded!

FFXI music is hard to find, so I'm just eating all these suggestions up.
