Or at least enable comments. Talk about connecting with your fanbase.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

I have, but the point of a developer's blog is to allow the developers to directly connect with the players. When that's a one-way connection, you might as well just put it on the forums or lodestone.

I thought that is what the forums are made to do. Usually when I think 'blog' I think of it like a journal or the individual just telling about their day or what they are up to.

It can be, but for businesses it's usually advised as a way to connect and give customers a voice, even if you don't respond. I just think it's pretty lame to put your developers out there and not let anyone communicate with them.

You have that way, it's the official forums. I don't see why we need two places.

I think it's because the URL for the lodestone should have just been flat out FFXIV, doing lodestone.finalfantasyxiv etc... is just confusing for new folks IMO

But if they enable comments on the dev. blog, that would make two entirely different places I have to go to spew irate, reactive nonsense and over-lengthy rants about SE's slow attrition... three if you count Zam! And I'm a busy person, I can't very well accommodate that!

Actually that's one of the nice things about enabling comments on the blog. If you set the max comment size to a reasonable length, then people have to articulate the gist of their comment without going on a 10,000-word rant. If anyone at SE actually listens to player feedback, that's a much more useful way for them to process it meaningfully.

Yeah my husband has that Tonberry plushie as well. He put a little sign on it that said "I kill u in da face!" at one point. We named one of our apartments after it - the Tonberry was on a bookshelf near the door, so it became the Tonberry Temple. (We currently resign in Arftenhouse. We have previously lived in Maison Ikkoku, Ohtori Academy, the Mog House, and Atlas City. We're weird.)
