That's the same video card I have now. 1.0 ran on an HD 5670. 2.0 should run smooth as silk at high graphics on the 7770.

It should, that set up could have run 1.0, and ARR will be configured better, so i say it should be able to.

Cool thanks. Now I just need to know if the CPU will handle it.

How well do you think it'll do on high settings?

Sorry if I sound ignorant of computer hardware lol but how will I know after the benchmark if my comp will fair? Is there somewhere I can test it before buying it because the rig I listed is what I'll buy for the game

Unless you can find someone who

a) got into the alpha
b) uses your exact setup
c) is willing to divulge the information somewhere other than this forum

you really won't know until you buy it and try it.

I am strictly an Intel guy, so I don't know how my 8 virtual cores compares with the 4 on that chip, but I don't think this game is as processor intensive as it does rely on graphics cards and your card seems plenty for the game. My rig ran 1.0 with a few hitches that I think were more due to the bad coding than anything else. Reports are the alpha client runs much better, but of course nobody can comment on that officially.

Four cores should be plenty. I'm not sure SE even knows how to code hyper threading.

What you've listed is a very solid system and I see no reason it couldn't handle 2.0 without issues. I just got the Radeon 7770 myself for Christmas in anticipation of 2.0 as well as other games - as of November it was the 25th highest ranked graphics card available of all time in terms of raw processing power.

About the only thing I'd worry about is the wattage of the power supply. Pre-built systems tend to have PSUs that are {Too weak} for future upgrades. The 7770 requires a 6-pin connector since it sucks up 80 watts at max draw. Can you check and make sure they included at the very least a 400 watt PSU with that system, if not a 600?

Yeah you definitely don't want to skimp on the PSU, that will make or break a system.

My Antec case has 1200W worth. A 400 for the motherboard and drives, and 800 for the graphics cards and other peripherals.
