When I played ffxi, I used ffxiclopedia and ffxiah a lot for finding game info, quest stuff, etc.
I know that there is a wiki here, and I assume it will keep everything up to date for v2, but I was wondering what other sites everyone used in v1 for that, so I can set my bookmarks for when I can start playing ARR. Thanks!

The current word is that they will be providing everything on the Lodestone, so 3rd party wikis may go away entirely. We'll see, if they're as robust as I hope, then we may not update ours. We're waiting to see what comes.

We all seem to be in the holding pattern. I can't find much either.
I doubt that fansite databases will ever really go away, if for no other reason than the ability to write notes and comments on individual items is too useful to not have, and it's the one thing official databases invariably never have.
Maybe not a wiki, but some *head version for FFXIV might be in order.

Yeah I was thinking we might be able to compete in that we allow comments on each entry/article. However we just don't know what they're going to implement yet.

That would make me sad to be honest.
But then again... Do you all remember the Linkshell pages SE had set up as a beta for XI?

Hopefully our community here will make us a more popular destination for information. I still plan on updating the wiki, but it will be probably years in the making
