Phoneme - I dont understand the Wikipedia entry. Please help! I have never spent much time with linguistics.

I think this is really a great idea!

Edit: Corrected mis-spelled word.

Do you mean phoneme? It's just a speech sound, the sound equivalent of a letter of the alphabet. If you do indeed mean phenome, I have no idea what that has to do with linguistics, sorry.

Since I'm determined to change my character to a Roegadyn female, and there's been a possibility mentioned that we can have a name change along with that, I played with the naming convention and the dictionary.

The challenge: An accurate, meaningful female Roegadyn Sea Wolf name that isn't a pain in the *** for others to spell.

What I came up with: Ornlona Wistuwyn - "Maple Gatherer, daughter of Western Dew." I think it has a certain musical quality to it.

Wint, your name means "Winter" according to the dictionary.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.
