I've been wondering about this since they [kind of] explained how they'll work. Each job will have three of differing power.
We know about meteor of course, but they also mentioned Final Heaven which starts an interesting pattern. How many other abilities were there that were high level physical abilities for specific classes in several games? Final Heaven, afaik, was introduced as Tifas Lv4 limit break, was also used by Zell in 8, and was in XI too. I wonder if they'll use Omnislash now for 1h sword, or save it till they implement great swords. Highwind could be a Dragoon Limit break. Maybe Great Gospel for White mages. I'm sure there are a lot of similar ones I'm missing, as this is all from the top of my head now. I haven't went back to look these up yet.
Also wondering what some of the lower level limit breaks are gonna be, and how they're gonna stand out from regular job abilities. Hoping for some cool Jump abilities for Dragoon, or perhaps the ability to summon a wyvern just like the one from ffxi, but just temporarily as it was likely initially intended when it was released as the two hour ability. Another cool possibility is that Meteor is only a Lv2 and that black mages will eventually be able to learn Ultima as their Lv3.
Anyone wanna do the foot work that I was too lazy to and compile all the older abilities that fit these criteria [what we know of them]?
