Sneak Peak at Beta Phase 3!
Hey everyone!

We updated the Official Facebook page with a few new images of what you can expect to see in Beta Phase 3! (Remember! Images represent content still under development.)

Head over to the gallery to check them out! (We'd post them here, but they're huuuuge, so better to see the full image there)

Check it out and give us a "Like" if you're looking forward to Phase 3 Beta Testing!

From the official forum! I obviously have no access to any NDA breakable material... yet Smiley: sly

Lvl 10 Arcanist seems to have like 6 abilities, and can use a shield! Well, that's what the pictures show anyhow.

Very nice! I'll be starting in Limsa to be an Arcanist. The Primals having their own storyline sounds exciting. Can't wait to see more about this and Summoner.

It's pretty sweet at night Smiley: grin La Noscea I was the most impressed with when I looked at them both during the media event. Limsa is definitely going to be my home town.

Limsa forever!

But Ul'Dah DEFINITELY looks more interesting now with the lights and lamposts. I never understood why people loved it so much in 1.0... convenience only takes you so far.

It's had quite a few subtle tweaks while retaining it's overall look and feel from 1.0.

That's Thaumaturge, not Arcanist.

Yeah, Conjurer and THM could use shields in 1.0, however they weren't used to block.

There was a grand company shield I used for my BLM with my one-handed scepter that gave +10 Magic Attack Bonus.

Wow, those environments!

Seeing a mage of any sort using a shield, that isn't magical is still odd to me.

And wait...there's different starting cities? Sheesh, I'm behind the times o.o

I wonder if there will be a quest series to unlock Arcanist. I liked the advanced job quests in XI. I'm pretty certain there will be for Summoner. Defeating primals to gain additional summons would be nice also. It was loads of fun in previous titles.

I'd totally play a Summoner alongside Paladin (main) and Monk if it meant getting summons through battles :P

I can't remember, were they re-doing Limsa à la Gridania? That city was so horribly laid out.

They're giving it a similar treatment, but no one's been able to play there even if they were in the beta so they can't say how it worked.

What are all the pros to living in limsa? I see a lot of peeps saying that will be there home town... Is there a sertain reason over other cities or just a personal pref?

Limsa had probably the best look of the 3 starter cities, it's only downfall was the map was so twisted it got annoying walking everywhere. So I can imagine with a small map revamp and the new engine, this place will look amazing.

Luckily, there's plenty of time to think of what town you wanna live in. Though where I live is the least of my worries >.>

Would were you start out take any effect as to a gatherers leveling? Or say I'm a woodworker and live in ul duh... Would I be lvling the same starting there as I would limsa or are there better starting areas surrounding the starting city for certain DoL
#26 May 04 2013 at 2:53 PM Rating: Good
Since the DoL guilds are located in specific cities, I'd assume that if you want to be in that guild from the start, it's best to start in that city.

In 1.0 U'Dah had the clothier's guild, the jeweler's guild, the alchemist's guild, and the miner's guild.

Gridania in 2.0 has the botany guild, the woodworking guild, and the leathercraft guild.

I can't remember all of it since I only spent a short time there in 1.0, but that would likely leave things like fishing, cooking, and blacksmithing in Limsa Lominsa.
