I've been thinking about some of the older FF games... and I can't even imagine how much a FFIII would be worth if it were new and in package.

With that said, do any of you buy more than one copy of games like this? I think it would be an awesome thing to have just for personal collection.

I started collecting all the SNES rpgs back in the day and then kinda got distracted, but still look out of them without getting obsessive.

I have:
FF1, 2, 3 (American), FF: Mystic Quest (In box with manual but it's lolmystic quest), Lufia 1 and 2, Breathe of Fire 1 and 2, Secret of Mana, Earthbound (I HAD it with Box and Players guide but when I went away to college my mom thought the box was garbage and threw it out.. Worth SO MUCH MORE with box, but alas...), Secret of Evermore, Chrono Trigger and... a few more I can't remember.

Not really a collector, but I do own FF Tactics, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 (all the originals except for 7 & Tactics which are the Greatest Hits versions). I'll be holding on to those.

I am a FF collector and that pricing on FF3 in the box and unopened is incorrect... the NES FF3 is worth 1.5k and i believe the original black label Japanese FF7 is like 1.9k but dont quote me on that price...

i have almost every FF there ever has been made and guide (greatest hits, black label and cross platforms) and continue to keep collecting... i plan on buying 2 copies of this CE just so i have an unopened one for the shelf...

i do believe that this box art is the first that Amano has been apart of in the FF series and should be worth something down the line... and the FFXI soundtrack on amazon runs 350$ as of now... so XIV could have some cash in it somewhere down the line...

Best to collect video games for the aesthetic/sentimental value. By the time they'll be worth anything we'll all be dead.

I don't even need to look to know that's not right.

Let me clarify, I meant FF III U.S.

Irregardless, I'm also quite sure the Japanese FFIII NES new in package is not $125.

Edit: Ok I just looked, the U.S. FF 3 in package is going for several thousand dollars.

Edit: Lolgaxe you're talking about used items. We're talking new and in original packaging.

Well when I say FF 3 U.S. I mean SNES FF 3 U.S. If I said FF 6 U.S. I would be referring to the playstation version of the SNES Final Fantasy 3 U.S.

I am aware on the numeration of the series between the U.S. and Japan.

(I understand my first line sounds snarky, but it is not meant to sound like that. I tried rewriting it, but it just always sounds snarky!)

You do realize that not only do you sound snarky, but on top of that, what you wrote is stupid...U.S FFIII is FFVI. There was no reason to be snarky, other than to try and being an idiot, which congratulations you where, you could have just said: "Yes FFIII is VI in japan" and we could have gone our marry way.

stfu, Ostia

I used to collect RPGs and first-party Nintendo titles, so I have a lot of older games. Most of them are with the intent to be played someday.

I haven't been actively collecting for a long time, though. The industry started pumping out too many crap games.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

I remember getting the collector's edition of the FF9 strategy guide for christmas one year along with the game. I studied that thing endlessly (these were the pre-internet days...).

I had the guides for 7, 8, 10, and 12 as well. I definitely spent more time studying those during Jr High than school work Smiley: lol

You do realize that your persistent bitterness you bring on to this forum is simply a reflection of your pathetic life. I specifically typed at the end, that I did not want you to interpret what I was saying as snapping at you... I meant no offense by what I said, and I tried to explain that to you because I realized what I was typing sounded different than I wanted it to be interpreted.

All you do on this forum is start drama, down to the last, everyone dislikes you... It's obvious you take pride in that, which makes you even more pitiful. I'm sorry that your Mommy was mean to you when you were growing up. Or maybe you're just really ugly and a girl wouldn't come within 100 feet of your miserable ***. Possibly you just have low self-esteem so you act like you wish you could in real life on here. Maybe you have a small package so you're compensating. Whatever it is, I feel bad for you. Who the **** spends their time on a video game forum to start fights? Do you know how amazingly pathetic that is?

I wonder if we counted every single thread on here, how many of them you get into a back-and-forth on? Is it really EVERYONE else, or is it you?

Couldn't have been pre-internet days, FF9 was the guide with the infamous PlayOnline combined paper guide + internet! The website for that guide isn't even up anymore lol

No it's not a double standard you halfwit. The reason Wint gets on you is because you are a perpetual drama starter. Literally no one else fights with others except you... You are involved in so many childish arguments that you actually believe Wint/ other moderators have it out for you. Think about how absurd that is... If I get banned so be it, someone needs to call you out for what you are.

I personally come here to have fun and read/discuss something I enjoy. When ******** like you show up it brings down the experience as a whole. You literally degrade ever topic with you negative abrasive attitude.

As far as this thread goes, Ostia hasn't done anything wrong. Sure, he/she can be an *** at times, but as far as this thread is concerned you're the one going into ******* mode, je355804.

Final Fantasy VI is the true name of the game. Most people refer to it as "Final Fantasy VI (FF3 US)" or something to that effect. If someone tells me FFIII with no context, I default to the FFIII remake for DS/newer mobile consoles since that's the most common one on market.

I don't bother reading the giant text pyramids whenever Ostia is involved. Anyway, I pre-ordered a copy of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 that comes with the artwork book. I'm thinking of just leaving it unopened. I'll probably be too busy playing XIV when 1.5 releases. By the time I do have the time to play it, I'm sure I can find a used copy somewhere for a good deal.
