Hey guys, I know the C.E. has been talked about to death already, but I just couldn't find the exact answer I was looking for;
Is the PC version of the C.E. only available through the Square Enix store? I've seen people suggest that it is, but couldn't find any actual confirmation, if someone could help me out that'd be sweet!

Edit: To clarify, I mean the physical collectors edition.

Digital upgrade, yes.

Full box, you can find at your favorite online retailers and some brick-and-mortars too.

I've seen it on Amazon without looking too hard. You should be able to find it.

So if I had 1.0 C.E I need to sign up with on the S.E store?

Thanks for the response!
Unfortunately I can't find it on amazon, only the old 1.0 collectors edition and the PS3 Collector's edition along with both standard editions for both.
My girlfriend also works at gamestop and only the collectors edition for the PC is not in their computers, but the others are.

If you are buying Digital C.E, it is available at other site as well. I know for sure Greenmangaming had them starting the day SE announced preorder. They tend to have discounts for new preorder as well (usually closer to launch date).

Sometimes digital deals on non-SE Store is quite lucrative. For example, FFXI:Ultimate Seeker Ed was on sale for $10.00 last month for 24 hour on Gamersgate. And I meant only digital sellers that deal directly with SE.

Reason for this is quite simple, Physical retailers/distributors usually take 70% of sale price whereas Digital retailers/distributors like Steam takes only 30% of sale price. SE is also unable to lower the price on their own Store than what retailer/distributor can, or they will be blacklisted by literally all retailers/distributors.

May have to wait for a while, there is no pre-order for physical C.E right now. Amazon only offer Digital C.E.

If you have the 1.0 CE, you wont need to upgrade anything. You will automatically get the in game items for the ARR CE for free. If you are a legacy member, you will get the early access. If you are legacy and have 1.0 CE, the only things you'll miss out on are the pre-order items and the physical items that come with the ARR CE. If you want to get those, you'll need to pre-order the ARR CE for ps3 or pc and you'll get all the items.

A small note though, if you do get the pc ARR CE version, you wont be able to register that CE code to the same service account as your 1.0. You can still register the pre-order in game item code though and get all the in game items on your 1.0 characters.
