...what class/job would you be and why? I don't mean playing the game, I mean if you as a person were in a Final Fantasy universe. No restrictions, choose any class or job from any game. This is just meant as a fun post to pass the time...

Me, I'd be a warrior. I'm modeling it after warrior from FFXI, mainly because I consider myself more of a jack-of-all-trades and would like the versatility of using many different kinds of weapons, and also the versatility of being a damage dealer who can take some punishment. I'm going to modify it a bit and throw in some Fighter (FF1 I believe?) mainly because of this.

Feel free to go as in-depth as you like, or even choose multiple classes/jobs. The power is yours!

White Mage/Cleric. Or maybe a scholar.

My nickname at my last job was "the scribe" and I used FF1 White Mage as my mascot and avatar.

Even though i often play as a mage in games if i was to be something i wouldn't be a mage for the simple reason that i couldn't be bothered to keep reading dusty tomes etc. If i was to be something similar i would say a sorcerer from DnD games since he doesn't need to read but there aren't any in FF world (except from FF2 as an enemy). I also wouldn't go for a WHM since i am quite the sinner so i would go for either a thief/Ninja or a sniper (from FFTA)

I wouldn't say I'm Johnson as much as I'm Biggs or Wedge I'd rather entertain my friends and I do have a tendency to break down into dramatics should the situation pop up~ On that note: There's a position open for someone to be the Wedge to my Biggs or vice versa xP

I would be a Red Mage. The class in game bores me to tears, but in a real life situation I think it would be the best choice. You don't always have a party, and I don't want to die.

This, plus some seasoning from the Dark Knight, and perhaps an inclination to use a great katana and shuriken as primary weaponry. I started to roll on the RP server with my SO, and this was sort of what I had in mind while making my character. I like characters who have really interesting (but justified) combinations of skills.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

Otherwise I would be a RDM type, with a concentration on healing and support. But if I have to bust some *** I do that too.

Everyone's looking at Red Mage for the advantage of the mechanics.

For me, the ideal of fast light swords with a magical flair attracts me. The idea of not always being at the forefront, but always having something to contribute. I like the idea that I can manipulate my opponents in various ways and gain my advantage by maintaining my composure in all things.

Beyond that, maybe a Dragoon? I like high mobility and those guys rule the skies. Who wouldn't want to be able to just leap large distances easily?

Or a pet mini-dragon to breathe elemental fire on your opponents. Smiley: nod

Yes I realize a wyvern isn't a universal dragoon trait.

I think I may be able to tolerate a wyvern.

I'm sure the ladies will find the pet dragon to be absolutely adorable. Provided he doesn't do anything dumb like set their armor/robes/attire on fire.

Here's a spin on the question: What would you be looking for in a traveling companion? A friend, a romance interest? A combat aid or just an adorable pet Chocobo?

If Final Fantasy were real and I was inside a Final Fantasy, I would probably like to be a Beastmaster (the FF11 sort).

In an actual Final Fantasy game, I wouldn't want to play as a Beastmaster so much though.
