Well idk that it counts but.. The ff card game.. Drg second weapon is a sword. FF Airborne Brigade.. Well maybesits more of a SE thing but not a squaresoft thing lol. Idk I enjoy it and its not just some weaon he equips, it seems like its made of energy or it transforms from his lance? idk hard to tell.. Also I read somewhere that limit breaks are based on the role of your class.. Tank gets the wall thing healers healing etc.. So it may not be only specifically drg that can do the move.. need more data lol

Hey, look at that. I actually care about this game now. I'm inclined to play it for the story even if the gameplay is mediocre.

DRGs could always use swords iirc. I'm not even sure if they really "specialized" in lances until FFXI.

Dragoons have specialized in polearms/spears since Final Fantasy II.

I believe there was a few Rapier type swords in FFXI that DRG could use.

Man ultimately it comes down to people are going to find ANYTHING they can to complain about. You are sitting here and have an awesome game with an awesome new trailer and you are able to nitpick something so little out of the entire thing?? That is just silly. Don't get me wrong, I would love for them to introduce Dark knight and if it were present I would say it should have been the more worthy candidate for this type of limit break.. But as it stands now, monk and dragoon are the only true full on dps roles for ARR and since is based on the role of the job I think out of the two drg is the perfect choice. I would hate it more to see mnk with omnislash LOL.

You could argue WAR should have it though. But War is somewhere between tank and dps but that by no means make it any less of a likely candidate for that specific limit break. But this is all pre release and could be changed at any moment.. No reason to get worked up over it. I think it is fine for drg to use a sword in this ONE instance lol. It kind of switches up the normal lance for everything and throw an extra something sweet to add to drg. Over all I like it.

No one's complaining about it, we're just pointing out that's it weird. Which it is. Imagine if a Black Mage took out a shotgun and shot the mob in the face for his limit break. It'll raise questions, lol.

Lol I wont lie, that would be odd. No, no one is complaining about it here but MAN... Over in the beta forums people are going nutz!

So I don't really believe this "omnislash" is something any job can use. Probably really is JUST for drg now that I gave it a proper read.

I think you're thinking of Dark Knights (who always used swords, then used scythes in FFXI).

Dragoons have always been spear users. In IV, obviously... didn't remember clearly but I checked and they're strictly polearm users in III too http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dragoon_%28Final_Fantasy_III%29

Hopefully they don't go too overboard with this fan service... I don't want floating Cloud and Lightning vanity pets...

Kain in FF2/4 could use swords in addition to spears.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but I agree. They really should have saved Omnislash for Dark Knight or even Samurai. I loved the trailer and I'm stoked on the game, but Dragoon should have had Cid's limit break from FF7, Big Brawl. They would make waaaaay more sense, and it pretty much does the same **** thing.

This is in no way a complaint. I'll take it either way, just give me the ******* game. It's just really weird they'd use Omnislash when there are nice spear type LB/Overdrives from previous FFs.

You actually may be onto something here. The pic in the link someone above posted confirmed that ROLE is what affects which Limit Break you get. As you said there's not enough data yet to 100% determine one way or another, but my best educated guess would be that, according to the tooltip each ROLE will have 1 type of Limit Break now the main question is if they'll look differently or have the same graphics. While I agree it would be cool to have separate graphics for each class/job in addition to it's role, it depends on if they want to make them about. For example: All melee Limit Breaks might be the same for some in-game lore reason. (Insert Buster Sword God X here) has blessed you by transforming your (insert Y weapon here) into "Buster Sword Z"!

Yes what I said made absolutely no sense >_> I'm just too excited for the game regardless of Limit Breaks lol
