Great news! Note that this is for PS4 only. For PS3 it's not required either way.

I heard that and it's also not required for a couple other MMO's. Must be for COLLARDOOTY and such only.

Whoa, can we get some clarification that it's MMOs and not F2P? Cause FFXIV is not F2P. That interview specifically says F2P, nothing about MMOs from Sony. This is very misleading.
