It's a beta test, this is common, especially on the first day of a phase.

I'm very surprised how well the servers are handling the load, very solid.

found 8 critical bugs in the first 2 hours of gameplay XD like certain quests doesn't show on the map, armory chest hotkeys disappearing, main quest bugged... I thought SE had internal testers who tested the game before they let commoners in?

What city? Only Gridania was available previously, and a lot of changes were made from phase 2.

Phase 4 is the commoners...

Agreed, my laptop is FAR from ideal, yet it handled the game quite well. I'm extremely happy so far... plus, this downtime allows me to do some work at my job and not get fired. Smiley: lol

I don't think something not appearing on the mini-map can be described as a critical bug.

Not to mention if you don't have it in your duty list you won't see it on the map, did you have more than 5 quests active?

I would have also recommended that people take this time to RTFM, many things answered in there that may not be apparent when you start playing, it also describes how to do things that you will want to know. It's really worth looking at. Alas no beta forums.

Those are temporary problems. This kind of situations are part of the beta as well. We do not test only the games itself but the servers at general as well. You should not expect everything to run smoothly in a BETA be reasonable. Anyway my friend logged in and downloaded everything without any problems so this are random problems that will be fixed. So keep calm :)

I do find it hilarious that you are getting *this* upset about a beta.... that's free.... that some others still are waiting for invites to....

I've used every known combination of every known username and pasword *AND* actually changed the password to make sure I hadn't forgotten. One should not, however, require a half dozen different logins for one company and one account.

You are correct. HOWEVER: SEcan't afford these kinds of temporary problems if they want to bring estranged players back to the fold. After 3 years and a completely failed first launch, there is a percentage of people that are going to have one problem, say "same fail different day" and go back to their lives.

Whatever you used for your SE account, that's the ID and password, it's not "half dozen", there is one. One only.

You know, there is no way you can have everything perfect in day one. And its day 1 of the BETA not even the release. If someone drops the game for the beta problems then sorry to say this but we don't want him in the game in the first place.

People should start be reasonable and play the beta for the reasons it is meant to be played.

I had the same problem yesterday, because I was inputting my email address instead of my actual username. It even mentions on the instructions link to use your username/nickname to login. Log into SE Account Management and check what your username is and try that. If it's still not working, my only guess would be that it locked you out temporarily for attempting too many times in a short window. Relax, wait a half hour, and try again.

Maybe I'm missing something, but how is it SE's fault that you have no clue what your username/pw is? Just recover it through the website or support. If it's not working because the system is down *on day 1* then learn to have a little patience as a beta TESTER of the system.
