What will PvP be like?Follow

I'm curious, as I like to play some PvP as do some of my good friends. I'd like to get them on board for this game, and that's a fairly high selling point for them. From everything I've seen so far in PvE settings, characters are not moving around too much (not a negative thing by any means). I'm just wondering how that would translate to the PvP stage. I played quite a bit of WoW PvP, so really that's the most noteworthy thing I can even relate this too. Any ideas?

Well, hopefully PvP has a solid foundation, especially since Yoshi is personally an avid PvPer, but SE isn't really trying to court that crowd. It might be fun, but I would imagine if you try to sell someone on this game as a PvP game they might be disappointed.

My friends are already interested, but I doubt they would even give it a shot if PvP wasn't at least given some thought by the development crew and not just tacked on. They PvE like crazy though too, so it's not like this game isn't already impressing them to some degree. It just feels nice to roll faces once in awhile, you know? Was there PvP in 1.0?

Well then in that case they might enjoy it. There was no pvp in 1.0 but that was under Tanaka's stewardship. Yoshi is big on it himself, so while we won't have "pvp servers" there will be something like an arena set up that I imagine will be pretty solid and decent fun when it's finished.

After playing(finally) I really don't see the room for PVP in any form- battleground/arena

I'm way too lazy and tired to go into it all but the combat feels way too flawed.
