Does anyone know when they will be back up or was this it?
I hope they come back up because, other than a few minor issues such as the PS3 targeting during fates (some what got that figured out) and the issue with the TP (it just regens too fast outside of combat and the skills are so cheap) with my Gladiator, I didn't have a problem. I loved what I played and I am looking forward to launch but I didn't get enough time to try Pally which was my favorite class in FFXI.

They will come back that is 100% sure. The phase hasn't ended. They are doing it like phase 2 i guess and they open the beta every weekend. They were saying though that at phase 3 they will at some point have it on for longer periods of time.

Here is their layout for the testing schedule for phase 3 be mindful this will be subject to change. I wouldn't expect for the servers to stay online for a extended period roughly 3 weeks from today.

Quote:
Test 1 - June 14, 2013 (Friday), 2:00 a.m. to June 16, 2013 (Sunday), 2:00 a.m. (PDT) / June 14, 2013 (Friday), 9:00 to June 16, 2013 (Sunday), 9:00 (GMT)
Large-scale checks of core PlayStation 3 functions
Operation of multiple data centers
Checks for stability in light of increased content
Checks for increased server load due to battle system revisions
In addition to the establishment of regional data centers and the above test objectives, the first phase 3 test will place emphasis on world stability and functionality on the PlayStation 3.

Critical issues reported by players will be addressed immediately, or by the start of the second phase 3 test at the latest.

Test 2 - Schedule TBA
Transfer of character data from Version 1.0
Once the PlayStation 3 version has been confirmed stable in the course of Test 1, we will move on to Test 2 which will include character data transfers and the addition of worlds from Version 1.0.

Test 3 - Schedule TBA
Test of the Duty Finder player matching system
If there are no major problems with the transfer of character data from Version 1.0, all subsequent tests will include the Duty Finder. Although limited in functionality, large scale stress tests of the matching system will be conducted.

Final Test - Schedule TBA
Once all key objectives for beta test phase 3 are complete, a final test of the game engine will be conducted to ensure server stability. During this test, worlds are scheduled to remain online for several days.

Final adjustments in preparation for release will be made during beta test phase 3, and your feedback will be invaluable as we conduct the tests outlined above.

Certain circumstances may necessitate the change of test objectives and scheduling. Should any schedule changes be necessary, an announcement will be made.

We thank you for your participation in the beta test, and hope you enjoy the experience!

Beta forgives all, try and convince him you where doing a service to your fellow gamers by testing servers. Maybe you can even spin it to look less like you just forgot and really where doing something important.

I actually spent Friday/Saturday player off and on reach Lv.10 but I spent 80% of my time exploring the areas, playing with the settings on the games config with my TV's config and examining the character system (inventory/armor/abilities).

My PC can't run the game so in the end I'll have to get it on the PS3, my biggest concern with the PS3 version was the over all clutter I felt during battles. This target system was good for FFXI when there was only 1 (maybe 2) creatures to target, but when there are 5+ it's impossible to target the one you want currently. I'd like to see D-pad up/down for people and D-pad left/right for creatures.

and for some reason on the PS3 I kept seeing frames of animation missing from creatures and other players. I assume that is cause this version of the beta is not fully optimized. maybe in next weeks beta it will keep getting better and better.

I would love to play this on PC, maybe in the next 6 months I will get a gaming PC but if I want to play FFXIV 2 release the PS3 it will be. I guess in that since it's pretty amazing to have such an amazing title on that 6 year old system.

1. It's a beta test, and the main focus for the weekend was 1.0 character data. They can test the scope in two days. P3-3 will be the same length to test out the Duty Finder, and P3-4 will be longer than usual.

2. Wint has been on a tear lately. I love it.

You could also adjust targeting only for specific targets when you weapon is drawn or sheathed. You find those options inside the Character configuration menu.

Actually, it was him berating you for whining and acting overly entitled in a beta. I agree it's unfortunate we can't play all day on Sunday, but it's certainly not something to **** and moan about. Yeah lets watch the name calling, my post may have been a little more aggravated than I would have liked, but I stand by it.

I get you want to play, I really do too. It speaks well of a game where everyone is chomping at the bit to get back into a phase where everything we do is wiped away in a few weeks Smiley: laugh

Yes, it was needed. For you and everyone to get the point. Be offended, maybe it will make you consider why the post was done in the first place. Why was your initial post even needed? It wasn't, that's the point. You are complaining that their testing phases don't meet with your needs. But this isn't about you, or your needs. This schedule is based on the developer's needs.

When the game is actually released, you will have all the time in the world to play, and better yet, you get to keep your progress!

Also, allow me to point out: This isn't a @#%^ing game demo. You are not entitled to play it. You are given early access in exchange for feedback on the product. Stop whining like entitled sh*theads and just enjoy your access while you have it.

Dude you wining about me wining.. Whats worse. Really was that worth posting. Like all my post have been negative. Most have been positive tuff guy.

Actually, it was him berating you for whining and acting overly entitled in a beta. I agree it's unfortunate we can't play all day on Sunday, but it's certainly not something to **** and moan about. I'm just happy to be in the beta and be allowed to test the game for free. Yes I wish we had more time, and we will soon enough.

It is the way it was said and how they said it.... really we resort to name calling.

Yes Boss I will watch what I say next time. You really are an overreacting .. I can state my opinion if I want. I f you don't like it fine.. I didn't break any rules. You did by attacking me.

This forum is starting to become boring. Almost every thread devolves into some sort of "I'm not grown up enough to have a conversation with another human being that doesn't escalate to name calling, personality bashing, racism, or some other way of arguing." Admins, if you're reading this...a lot of people are going to get turned off and stop visiting.

And if I overmoderate even more will leave. I lock things when they get too out of hand, and I administer warnings when I feel it necessary. I don't like people telling me what to do though.

The problem is some people think god made them the ones to stand up for this game no matter what even if they are wrong.. If some states anything that could be improved on this game they have to jump down their throat.. ... There are things that are great and things that could be improved, its that way with all games. Then people get defensive because all these people jump down their throats., There are obvious trolls but on both sides.

Not telling you what to do. Just expressing that it gets frustrating when every thread goes far off-topic and turns into people arguing about anything and everything. I was so close to clicking the pay button on being a premium member because when things are good here, they're great. Lately however it seems like things are mostly not great, on nearly every thread I read.

You know what I am talking about.. There are trolls on both sides.. The are those that are obviously on the forums to bash the game. But there are the ones on the other side who are always too positive or have to resort to name calling or calling you a troll right off the bat... It is like they take it personally. See they just want to chase you off the forum......A game cant be a 100 perfect or there would never be another game because it could not top it. If people cant state what they think could be improved how can SE be aware of it to improve it or fix it.
