I think he means 'in-game' help from what I can tell but to reiterate what you said silverhope I'm sure there are many players that would gladly help you out on this forum. Please ask away. :)

Thanks for answering back as i really didn't think anyone would but just help..idk..a lot of things are confusing.I really don't know what i should go after or do ,what's more important and what's not.I play A LOT of jrpg/rpg games but mmo's are just different so trying to understand it.I have a best friend that started same time and is also new and in the world but different town and can't figure out how to meet up with him to work on quest and can't find info.Just everything really.I don't want someone to hold my hand but a good start and a goal as to what i am aiming for would be awesome.I really enjoy the game and read people quit the game all time because they are in same boat but i am not them and want to play it and put the time into it so if any of you can help me out I would really appreciate it

Well the way the new city system works is the class you choose is tied to the city you start in. If one of your friends started from somewhere else you guys can meet up after lvl 15 when u get the airship passes from the main story quests ( the icon looks like a grey flaming q) class quests will have the icon of Ur class . To see them hit J and Ur quest log will pop up.

When you start u want to grab all quests ( ! ) symbols on map and mini map. Also click all aetherites ( blue crystals) these can teleport u around town easy once u hit them all. Make sure to check all the maps of the city to make sure you got all the quests and handed them in. Once your done the quests send u outside and you do the same.

So far in this game, and like many MMORPG's, you'll just want to follow quests. Read what they are telling you to do, and just keep plugging away. Really you're just trying to achieve a higher power through levels and gear, which you'll claim both of as you're questing goes forward. If you notice, most of the quests will give you gear at the completion of it, and depending on what class you have chosen, you'll want to pick the gear that best suits your needs. The physical fighters are going to want to take the gear that nets them things like strength and vitality, while magic users are going to be taking the lighter armor that gives bonuses to their intelligence. As far as finding your friend goes, as long as you're both in game, I think you can keep in contact by typing /tell [player's name] [message] into the text box and can communicate that way, unless you have outside means of doing so. Always try and have some potions on hand if you need them for healing, which can be purchased like most things from the shops around town, or they can be given from quests as well. Don't be afraid to ask people in game for help as well, so far it seems like the community is fairly helpful with most things. You might catch the occasional ****, but don't let them get to you, most people will help. Mainly though, just level up and you'll figure out a lot of things as you go. As far as crafting and gathering resources go in this, I cannot help you as I don't know much about it, but I had no need yet for crafting any gear and I had leveled up to 15 (which is by no means impressive lol). Just keep questing and you will be fine. Smiley: nod

My best advice for you is to to join a linkshell or free company that suits your needs (casual gamer, inexperienced but committed, etc.). In my experience, a like-minded and supportive team will help you make the most improvement because you will have people to group with and improve with. Group play is the only way (imo) to really get any better.

I'm sure you would be welcome to our linkshell once the game boots back up. Smiley: grin
