[NA] Final Fantasy XIV:A Realm Reborn Beta Test HotFixes (Jun. 20)
The following adjustment has been made.
As a temporary countermeasure for the congestion issue with instanced quest battles and instanced dungeons, we have implemented additional instances.

The following bugs have been addressed.
  • Players occasionally were not able to enter an instanced area even though there were enough openings.
  • The screen froze when a player spoke to an NPC to complete a quest and then spoke to the same NPC again to accept a different quest.
  • The server occasionally went down when monsters spawned during levequests.
  • The server occasionally went down when a player crafted under certain conditions.
  • Certain party features caused the server to go down under certain conditions.
  • An item that cannot be equipped was not properly indicated within the help text.
  • The window for removing materia occasionally did not open properly.
  • The materia type and count did not display correctly in the trade window.
  • Players occasionally were able to make a trade offer even while the quantity selection window was still open.
  • The trade window occasionally did not appear properly for the opposing player under certain conditions.
  • Damage over time (DOT) spells such as aero dealt less damage than intended at lower levels.
  • The graphics denoting quest and FATE boundaries on the map were incorrect.
  • Inactive linkshells was flagged as the active linkshell under certain conditions.
  • The volume adjustment bar for environmental sounds did not function correctly in the ‘Sound’ menu under ‘System Configuration.’
  • Upon creating a new character, the game selected the JP group as the default no matter the region of the account.
  • The screen occasionally froze and prevented the players from progressing with the game (PlayStation®3 only).
  • * Please note that this was only partially addressed.
  • The cursor occasionally continued to move across the screen and disappeared while in gamepad mouse mode (PlayStation®3 only).
  • The text command “/marking” occasionally did not function properly (PlayStation®3 only).
  • Sound occasionally reverberated greater than intended (Windows only).
  • The screenshot feature occasionally did not function properly (Windows only).

Regarding the Login Restriction for the Legacy Worlds (Jun. 20)
We are expecting a large number of players to stay around the starting areas once the Legacy Worlds are open. Therefore, to minimize the congestion, we will be lowering the maximum number of players that can be logged in simultaneously on the Legacy Worlds. The plan is to slowly increase the capacity based on congestion level of the number of players within the starting areas.

Please note that if your login is restricted, you will receive the message “This World is currently full. Please wait until an opening is available and try again.” If you receive this message, please try again at a later time.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

Uh.. hrm..

So 1: Server queues aren't a thing they can do? Smiley: dubious and 2: Why the starting areas for legacy servers but not new servers? I would think starting areas on new servers would be much more congested since you don't have X% of the population starting out at a much higher level than 1.

Probably because the new servers got most of the people out of the starting areas last weekend. I suspect the legacy folks will be dropped into the same bucket when they log in.

Regarding the server queues, those were tested during Phase 1 I believe, I'm guessing they need a bit more work before being implemented.

I hope this is something they're able to work out. I plan joining some of my old FFXI friends who are on a Legacy server. :/

Wow, which server or all of them? I'm glad they fixed them.

I Knew that my Aero should have been doing more than 4 points of damage, even at level 9.

Well, I imagine that all legacy players will reappear in the same area, unlike new players that are spread out to 3 main areas. Remember, our characters were sent forward in time while standing in mor dona, so we'll probably appear there.

Server queues were in as of last weekend. When the NA servers went down Friday morning, I was able to make a character on a JP server, and was #147 (or so) in the queue. It took about 5 minutes or less and then I was logged in.

Hah! Nope. There were 3-4 other characters standing around besides me. If it had looked like that, I wouldn't have considered it odd that I kept getting rejected.

At least it appears that everyone was polite about it and stood in line. Smiley: lol

Also the level 5 main scenario quest for Gridania. This is why I felt I had missed so much at first. It took me half a dozen attempts over a couple hours to finally get in.

It's the one where the instance is queued up by a sword in a stump
