ive been writing down some of what i would think are decent questions considering ive not played around with any of it to know the answers... so if any of you have it would be nice to know what you have in your knowledge box ;)

1. Do attribute points stay on other classes? are they permanent?

2.Why can i transfer my class skill of a crafter to another craft is there a use for this?

3. Do your buffs carry over to the limit break... like dmg +20% and so forth?

4. If i take leathercraft up to the lvl to materia meld can i only meld for leather type armors?

Just a few for now as i think of more ill add them here if wanted...ty all in advance for any light you may be able to shed here ;)

I only know the answer to #1

Your points are per class. When you lvl you get points tho use points are only for said class u lvled on. There is also a redo button but it didn't seem to work for me but I hope they let you move points about even if it cost some gil.

The rewording to question 3 would be... Will my LB do more dmg if I put my buffs on as to not having them up incase there was confusion...

As for Q2 I know they work cross class but for what cause? Will we see benefits from this later?

As for now so its known I'm not new to the game at all butlots of questions rolling around in my head that come to me when beta is down for the week... I'm a 28PUG with all other classes with skills to cross class to PUG lvled as well... And a lvl 20 leatherworker...

1. They are separate for every class and you should be able to reset them during phase4/launch, probably for a small fee in gil.

2. I was assuming that this was so you could have higher level abilities when you change crafts. This would probably make leveling a second craft a bit easier/faster. I could be wrong however. Maybe it has something to do with cross craft mats?

3. I believe so. I popped my crit and damage buffs before using a level 2 limit break and it seemed to do more than others I've seen. the Crit buff might not work though.

4. I haven't gotten a craft high enough to mess with it yet but people are stating this is the case. Some people were even mentioning that you might have to be a couple levels higher than the gear to socket materia. maybe it is based on Item level instead of required level, however this would cause issues for all of the items that have item levels over 50.

All level 15 tradeskill abilities can be used cross-class. (There's probably other ones higher level too.)

One of the best ones is called "Tricks of the Trade" from Alchemist, which lets you regain 45 CP if the crafting orb is in "Good" state.

Other favorites include Waste Not (Leatherworking), which makes you only lose 5 durability while it is active for 50ish CP, and Rumination (Carpentry I think), which gives you CP based on the bonus to Control from another ability all tradeskillers get right before 15 that I can't remember.

Wow. Really great info. I didn't realize you could mix and match like that with the crafting classes. I'm definitely going to be experimenting next go-round.

Thanks!

So you have to do Leathercraft to get general materia crafting, and separately you have to get other trade skills up if you want to apply materia to anything other than leather? Or can you apply materia to any type of item as long as you focus on that trade?

from what I read above...

If you lvl leather to 20 and do quest for materia then you can socket leather only at that time untill you lvl another trade and have done quest

Once you unlock materia melding, you can meld materia on any tradeskill class, as long as you meet any actual level requirements for doing so. Anything locked for tradeskills is a global unlock, not a class-specific unlock.

For example, once you unlock the ability to get Good/Excellent/Poor results while crafting, it will occur on anything you craft on any tradeskill class. But until you get one tradeskill class to the ~11+ range, those options never show up.

2) has been mostly answered, but I also found it useful to have prospect/lay of the land (from MNR) on, so I could scan the current area for mineral deposits, then jump onto MNR for a quick spot of mining. Not quite your question, but same idea.

4) If you hover over an item, you will see "Materia Melding" (assuming the item has slots), and a crafting class & level listed. This is the class (& level needed) for materia to be melded. From what I have seen, the level you can wear the item is the level the crafter needs to be at. So level 15 cloth boots require a level 15 weaver to meld materia to them.
