Hey all, Really enjoying the new changes, dropped off shortly after release and got back in the beta, definitely going to give it a solid 6 month go in September.

I have a Logitech rumblepad that I was playing and it felt good to use, but I could not figure out how to select my hot bar, was there some verbiage in the options that I was misinterpreting, or do I still need to use the keyboard for actions? I saw lots of hot key options but I was expecting something like selecting the action keys with a menu once I entered into battle.

Thanks!

Did you change the control scheme to Controller from Mouse? Otherwise I'd check out this video:

Gamepads will work without changing the control scheme, but the UI won't show you the gamepad layout. The setting I referred to will switch the button bar to the cross hot bar that they designed for this game.

You can move and everything, but you can't select a hotbar action.

Or does it keep the memory of the AB layout and use it "in the background" somehow? I was moving around but I never tried using the keyed AB shortcuts while in "PC" mode. When I wanted to I just switched over.
But when tanking in a group I found the controller kind of lacking... solo however, controller all day.

Yes you must at the beginning or in the menu change from mouse to gamepad. Mostly everything will remain the same but the hotbar is replaced with the cross-hotbar. The awesome thing about the gamepad compared with my recent go at Terra Online is that aside from typing to folks, you should never have to touch the mouse. They did an excellent job making thing navigable all from the pad itself. Just wish the PC version displayed that sick looking PS3 menu cross bar when in gamepad mode. Maybe a future update....

It definitely does, if you are talking about this bar.

That was a screenshot from yesterday on PC, with a wireless 360 controller (to the old wireless 360 receiver for pc).

I think it really is designed for a ps3 gamepad or xbox 360 controller or something similiar to it.. It needs 4 bumper buttons really to work the way it is supposed too.
The game recognizes a xbox controller and changes the menu system for it.. I use the wireless one.

I found, on my 360 controller at least, that hitting the Back button (Select on traditional controller) would cycle through all UI elements. As to whether it includes hotbars, I can't testify, as I exclusively used the cross hotbar (didn't have enough skills yet to warrant otherwise).

Edit: It definitely won't select the cross hotbar, as that is accessible by pressing a trigger then the associated button. Sounds like you needed to set the input method to Controller as stated above.
