So a post from FFXIV ARR showed up on my FB today that states we need to delete the current client after this next test ends next Monday. Included in this post was this

Character Appearance Data
Character appearance data saved during beta test phase 3 can be used when creating a character during beta test phase 4 and official service. Those who wish to use their appearance data should not delete the following folder:
Windows
My Documents -> My Games -> FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn (Beta Version)
PlayStationÂ®3
(From "XMB") Game â†’ Saved Data Utility (PS3TM)

I was wondering if someone more computer literate could shed some light on this for me. If I go to >Programs>add/remove programs , to delete the game will it automatically remove this file? Will I need to make/save a copy of this file somewhere, then delete the client, then put this file back to My Docs. before I download the new client? Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Better to be safe than sorry: I would backup the folder in an easily accessible location and copy its contents into the new ARR folder after installing the open beta client. If it is not deleted upon uninstallation of the previous client, then you can be glad that you took the precaution even though it was not necessary.
