I'll be playing the PC version from the comfort of my recliner, with a wireless headset, keyboard, and game controller available to me.

I also have an XBOX360 controller I'll be trying out in Phase 4 Beta, but it's currently in the living room hooked up to my new Raspberry Pi until I can get some cheapo USB SNES controllers.

Edit: ACK! Sorry for the poor quality, I really should upgrade my phone soon...

I like your table. :)

Is it really mounted that solidly? Feels like it could fall off any second.

Good reason to not overload the desk... a granite slab falling on your legs would probably suck.

Oh don't worry, it's laminate and only weighs maybe 30lbs. It is mounted with nine 3.5in screws straight to studs on 3 brackets rated for 150lb each. You'd have a hard time breaking that table lol. I always make it a point to overbuild stuff, just in case. ;)

Edit: Here is a pic of the underside just after building my desk/PC. http://i.imgur.com/UDWP1rl.jpg

Not on my original char, which was Izonthrall. I did play with Vash who actually was in Summit/Millennium. The real Vash and I are good friends, I baby sat his toon when he retired, but recently he has been on Vash and played through all of the latest content, new level caps, and the last expansion. I hang out now and play different games with Internecion and some old Summit people. Vash, Klorininja, and Araerea(sp?).

Cool. Ararae, Goggly, and I are in the beta together. We actually use Klori's ventrilo whenever we're in the game. Ara is in contact with Vash, and according to him, Vash and Klori will likely be joining us for open beta and release. You should join us! :)

yeah I will. I have Klori's vent. Lol man Klori stays logged into multiple vents or mumbles at the same time. I know we all started 1.0 together and Ara worked on this facebook style FFXIV site. I just was talking to vash last night. Are you rerolling or do you have a char that you are transferring? Vash is thinking about possibly rerolling. Come to think of it, for a short brief time there were a ton on Caitsith/summit people playing with us on Gysahl.

lol thanks, but I wouldn't call it a gaming rig just yet though. Most of the rig is new, but the GTX 660 is getting weak. The new 700 series is not worth upgrading to, imo, so I'm waiting next year for SLI GTX 860s. :)

Yeah, we had a bunch of people on Gysahl. Too bad the game blew back then so everyone left. At first I thought of rerolling, but I've decided to stick with my char. If I only had a handful of jobs at lvl 30 or something, then I'd definitely reroll. But with all the progress I've made with it, it would just be a big waste to throw it all away.

We'll likely be on the server Ragnarok, so make your char there if you can. :)

And yeah, Klori is always afk on vent. :P

Hey so here's a question I should have thought of long ago. We will be able to use a game controller in the PC version, right? Here I've got my entire set up, and it's all based on this idea that I can move around with the controller, rather than mouse and keyboard.

edit: disregard, that's a dumb question. I've already seen this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6vdKLhQqHc

It's a bench rig, used for testing components. Or it could just be for open air, a lot of hardcore overclockers will run open air for cooling purposes.

Because I like being naked! :)

I don't use a computer case. I use what is called a test bench. Obviously it's not used by most people. It's generally used by people who review computer hardware since it's a lot easier to work with when you need to fiddle with your hardware a lot.

Btw, I also have a bottle of whiskey sitting -very- close by. ;)

Nice and sturdy, I like it. I need to redo the desktop on mine, they're actually compressed lumber doors (fire rated so heavy as ****), and some water leaked in a crack between where two meet and is causing it to separate. I'm pretty careful with coasters but apparently not careful enough. Next desktop I make will be solid hardwood so $$$ Smiley: frown

Here's my little hole in the wall set up. Kinda doubles as a tinkering area, since I don't have a garage for projects.

I like the Stay Puft sticker and Firefly poster

Heh! Thanks. The stay puft guy used to be a magnet, but the magnet seperated from the picture so I just glued if on and hoped nobody would notice ^_^

If you like sturdy and don't mind SUPER heavy, I had a cousin do an interesting setup for counter tops that I have considered for a desk. He built a would frame with with a smooth piece on the bottom and cemented it. When he flipped it after it hardened and pulled off the frame. He had a really good looking, sturdy surface.

I'm considering going with a melamine surface, if I can find it in a pattern I like. My father in law make custom countertops, I'm hoping he can find me something cheap. These doors are nice but the wood grain is too rough for writing on, which is another complaint I have with them. They were free though Smiley: thumbsup

I like your station the most so far. The dual screen setup is awesome. Awesome enough that I want to do it. But that costs money...

Here's my setup... don't mind the booze shoved in the corner. That's in case of emergencies.

Because I like being naked! :)

I don't use a computer case. I use what is called a test bench. Obviously it's not used by most people. It's generally used by people who review computer hardware since it's a lot easier to work with when you need to fiddle with your hardware a lot.

Btw, I also have a bottle of whiskey sitting -very- close by. ;)

I was going to create a thread like this the other day, never got around to it. This is a dated picture of mine, I've tweaked the set up slightly, I'll have to take a new picture later.

I like the ambience and the cozy feel to it. But with all those little objects, how do you take care of dust build up?

Edited, Aug 5th 2013 8:40am by Threx

Well, that's neat! I could never pull that off. My nieces or something would probably be like "WHAT'S THIS" *ELECTRICAL GENERATION VIA SOCKCARPET* *POKE* *ZAP*. Also, dust.... I should mention I have a shag rug in this room.

I need a better desk. I been using that setup for forever, and I told my self it was temporary.

Connecticut doesn't know how to do apartments, only the west coast does. I'd kill for central air and washer/dryer hook ups. If I ever become a mega millionaire, I'm building an apartment complex, and it's going to have all the amenities you'd usually get somewhere like Las Vegas.

Here in northwest Arkansas most apartments come with central air and washer/dryer. Of course some of the older ones don't.

Ya, I'm pretty sure you could have watched the moon landing from my apartment, 44 years ago.

They don't know what air conditioners are in Wyoming either. I had to buy one of those portable ones that run the tube out the window because the people who built my house apparantly thought that I wouldn't need a window unit or central A/C and gave me a furnace and windows that all slide horizontally Smiley: oyvey
