Phase 4 Beta & Server ChoiceFollow

I decided to start another thread that could answer a more general question regarding the phase 4 testing and how servers will work.

Answered earlier, legacy servers will be open to everyone to join and will have people level 50 already from 1.0. My question is, however, when the early access begins will people on the non-legacy servers be progressed due to phase 4?

Let me give an example to clarify my question:

Phase 4 Begins
Excalibur (Legacy): There will be lots of experienced players at maximum level. [Yes]
Leviathan (Non-Legacy [If they exist in Phase 4]): People will start from level 1. [?]

Early Access Begins
Excalibur (Legacy): There will be lots of experienced players at maximum level. [Yes]
Leviathan (Non-Legacy): Will people retain the phase 4 data, therefore there will be people at a higher level than others? [?]

I don't want to join in the phase 4 testing, instead I'll just begin at early-access. I just don't want to see level 10+ players all throughout the server recruiting for raids and spamming economy with all their items in their bags that no one else has.

Basically, when early access begins I want to be a part of a server where everyone begins at level 1. Thanks for your time.

The simple answer is yes.

Progress during P4 will be saved as long as there are no major issues. If there is a super bug they will wipe our data and we start fresh in Early Access. Otherwise Early Access will see players even 20+ starting on day 1 in the non-legacy servers. There will be no servers excluded from this. You will not be alone I'm sure there will be others starting at level 1 who were unable due to personal schedules etc. be in the P4 testing. If you are concerned about not being in a completely fresh world for Early Access I suggest you get in on at least a bit of the Beta.

Sorry, but that just isn't going to happen unless you decide to participate in phase 4 beta. There is no server that won't be part of phase 4. However, I think your reason is silly. Simply turn the chat off? Enjoy the game, and don't worry about what other people are doing. The game is going to get to that point, ANYWAY.

If you're not in Open Beta you're not going to get that chance, regardless of any server.

So, the server I join on phase 4 will be the server name I stay on? The reason I want to know is because I'm making a signature in Photoshop and I want to put my server name down. Plus I have a few friends who want to join my server with me and are waiting on me to pick one, I don't want to tell them the wrong server and end up on a completely different server from them just because I played phase 4 and they didn't.

I guess beta phase 4 is more like the early, early-access. :)

You are correct, it's early early access. So be wise on what you choose for phase 4!

I would recommend you and your friends trying to create characters during Phase 4 even if you don't plan on playing during it. The reason being is that if one of you picks the server early and the others wait, there is a chance that the server could become overpopulated and closed to new players (for the time being). Launches of new MMOs are risky businesses to try and corral new players to specific servers because they have no control over which players pick which servers.

You could just start playing at the beginning of P4 and just pretend that it's early access. After all, what's the difference between P4 and early access? The differences are probably small enough to not warrant avoiding P4 in favor of starting during early access.

The only reason I could see for holding off is if Arcanist isn't going to be available during P4 and you or one of your friends absolutely wants to start out as an Arcanist.
