No Valid Service Account - NA PS3 Only - Any Updates?Follow

Has any progress been made on the following NA PS3 issue? I don't have access to the beta forums but I do have a key so I am having some trouble checking up on when it will be complete (hopefully by 3am Mountian Time?).


"[NA PS3 Version] Version Update Issue (Aug. 15)
Right now we are experiencing technical difficulties on North American PlayStation®3 version where an error message saying "No valid service account is available to play FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn." when players press the login button on the launcher and they are unable to complete the version update.

We are currently addressing this issue with a cooperation of Sony Computer Entertainment and new updates will follow as additional information becomes available.

Please note that this issue is only occuring on the North American PlayStation®3 version. The Windows version, and Japanese/European PlayStation®3 version, are unaffected.

We deeply apologise for any inconvenience."

My RL friend is having that issue. He's getting annoyed for some reason. I guess you just have to wait.

A friend of mine is having the same issue. I'm not sure where he's checked for info, but when I texted him just now to see if he knew about it he said he hadn't heard any updates.

For the lulz, I just tried logging in to Square Enix customer support. Made a ticket to see what the queues were like for chat support. Well, I'm not gonna spoil it for you if you have to contact them for any reason today, but if you do... may god have mercy on your soul Smiley: frown

I have been following this closely they have not said a thing since this morning. It's starting to get scary since I wanted 8 hours sleep before the start.

I've had to contact SE support in the past and it never kept ringing. It was the usual hold with the occasional "We appreciate your patience. Please continue to hold." interruption. I don't have the time to wait it out and confirm, but I'm curious whether or not this is just an endless transfer loop Smiley: laugh

If you stay on the line you WILL get through eventually. It's first come first serve and most people get bored and give up sooner than later. Longest I ever had to wait was 45 minutes.

Compared to the phone company's customer service, that is a breeze. I mean really, if you're a phone company, is it too much to ask for you to answer your phone?

EDIT: On second thought, getting through to them probably won't help on this issue. I think they are aware and will have to fix it server wide, not individually.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend, but I also expected some form of technical issue. I won't be able to play until noon tomorrow. That being said, I still wouldn't be upset if it wasn't ready by then. Let them work the kinks out...I'm confident we will all live through this lol.

I am experiencing precisely this issue and am glad to hear it is a global issue they are working on vs. an individual account issue.

Been listening to the ring, ring, ring, thank you for holding, rinse, repeat SE support line for 20 minutes now.

It's 6 PM and I guess that means it's bed time since there are 8 hours to launch. Crossing my fingers they have this fixed by then!

I'm having same issue...

Having a time tho looking at the FFXIV wall paper that comes up when scrolling over the ps3 icon and listening to the music at the log-in screen Smiley: grin

So I'm getting a different error message...

"This is an invalid operation. Please log in again from the top page. (Please do not perform operations with multiple windows open or using your browser's "Back" button)"

This is after I accepted the Beta agreement. No login screen or anything after that. Might be due to me preordering from the PSN store. I wonder if other PSN preorder digital downloaders have the same error as me. I feel kinda lonely since everyone else is getting the No Valid Service Account one. Haha.

I received this error as well. Although I thought it was because I tried to be sneaky and use my SE account on both my laptop and my PS3 at the same time. Although, I never did receive a PS3 beta code; I only got one for PC back in Phase 3 because I didn't have a PS3 at the time so I got curious to see if I could get beta running on my PS3. But yeah, guess we have no choice but to wait it out for now.

Oh that is not good news at all. I'm not a phase 3 tester so I'm gonna have to wait until the 17th to actually see if the client actually works for beta.

Do you always get the same error message? I remember the first error I got wasn't the service account thing. I don't remember exactly what it was though. After it didn't work the first time I closed the game and tried again, and every other time I got the service account error.

Yeah... after I accepted the Beta agreement the first time I started in, I keep getting that message. Not sure why I'm stuck with that.

I finally got through to SE phone support.

They said this issue should be resolved prior to launch at 2 AM PST tomorrow.

The problem is on Sony's side and so they are having to work jointly with Sony to resolve the issue.

Just tried myself. After i accepted the terms I got a "server not responding error" when trying to link accounts. Progress I guess ><

Sorta off topic, but I recall someone who actually had been banned posting a screenshot of what they saw when they tried to access their Square Enix account through the SE ID system. Their service account wasn't invalid, but where it normally said something related to the status of their account (I think it was 'active' or 'continuous' maybe), the banned account said 'unusable'. The person could still post to the official forums, but couldn't log into the game. Struck me as odd, but SE works in mysterious ways I guess.

I wouldn't read too much into what that message says in the link. Not having a valid service account could apply to everyone who applied and was accepted to beta testing, but never actually registered a full copy of the game to their Square Enix ID.

I went and looked immediately after reading this..

Now I'm worried.. 5 hours... e.e; It's crunch time. Hopefully this is resolved soon.

ya i just went to buy the game on psn and its gone.....kinda ****** this is happening few hours before beta....its gotta be serious if they completly removed the game. there losing money

Yeah I already bought it so what happens to me now? I already cancelled my Amazon preorder and loss my early access code which they are currently out of.

EDIT: Nice to know it's back. Guess I'm still okay.

I'm getting that thing about an invalid ID or whatever. I've preordered my physical copy of my PS3 version from Amazon. I hope the message about not having a valid ID and saying I should buy the digital version of the game goes away by the time the beta starts.

Did anyone else have to reasign their PS3 account to their Square ID?

While it would have been nice to have an official update or at least some sort of response to the issue, I hope that the PS3 users can breathe a collective sigh of relief sometime before testing starts. I really feel for all the people stuck out there in limbo wondering what is going on.

Got home from work after letting the client download all day. Installed it and when I went to set up my account I got the "no valid account error" thing. Tried it like 2 or 3 times and finally it worked. Downloading the update now. Good luck everyone else with this issue.

Mines is now working with new options!! It let me register a ps3 account option, and then let me update the client... 4AM here I come!!!!

It is working now. I am halfway through the DL.

It says it's only 1827mbs currently, there might be more to it though. Will update.

It is apparently working, but once I get into the "Select service account" option it appears onle available as permanent option "Beta Test Windows(R)". Im playing on PS3 so I dont know if I should select this option of select "Create a new account". Anybody with the same issue?

Should be an option to make a new service account.

I chose to add to existing in the hopes I could load my P3 character(PS3). Sure enough, I loaded him, changed his voice, and am now stuck in a loading loop. Keeping my fingers crossed though. PS3 load times in P3 could be excessive. I'll keep y'all updated.

This morning at 5am mountain time (4am pacific, 6am central, 7am east) I completed my update, created my character, and logged on to the Ultros server with my North American PS3. From my experience, the "no valid service account" error has been resolved. Smiley: schooled

I was able to get past the error now. It did say something about permanent FFXIV ARR Windows Service Account even though I am on PS3, but above that it had what I expected, the "FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn" Service Account which I created and associated with my PSN.

So I got in to the front end. Currently downloading a patch, hoping it will get done before I have to get to work.

But mostly, I hope I get to import character data I saved in Phase 3 because tediously recreating them to exact specifications going forward is not how I want to spend my short window of time in Phase 4...
