Summoner subjob requirementsFollow
Since largely it's unknown if even the original job requirements are the same what do you guys think will be the requirements? Scholar seems like it's a no brainer that it will require conjuror. But summoner? I think it'll be thm (it makes the most sense) But of course we have to take into account how some of the requirements for other jobs make no sense at all like pug to unlock black mage. hehe I'm trying to level up my subclasses first and enjoy arcanist during release and considering what the possible requirements will be.
you are most likely correct it is probably thm for summoner ans also conjurer for scholar. Id be surprised if its something random like pug
On a side note I am having a hard time deciding on this class or not considering the little information out there on it, and how much the avatar work or tank for you.
I was a summoner main and leveled every pet class in FF11 starting with dragoon, but SE is infamous about making pet classes crappy for a while also. ( remember when call wyvern was 2hr ability lol and no blood pact separation.)
the summoner class resembles a bit by description the Spiritmaster class from AION if anyone played that which was pet class with dot and debuffs ( and very little pet focused ).
P.S-
anyone know if you summon anything other than carbuncle with the arcanist?

I'm torn part of me wants to go summoner because i love the AF and it was my main class in XI but I'm really disappointed in how the egi looks. From what yoshi p has said in dev letters. The summoner itself is fairly weak (it shows in their ability list in how low potency their spells are) A good chunk of the damage will come from the pet.
With arcanist you are only able to summon carby though there's 2 diff forms of him to summon a tanky one and a spell casting one. As summoner carby is replaced by Garuda (spells) and Titan (tank) Ramuh was also on the datamined spell list but there's been mention of what his role will be or if he'll even be useable yet since square hasn't said if ramuh will be ready by release. Ifrits egi is summonable in the high 40's (melee)
They also said more egis will come but they prolly wont come until a level cap increase which isn't as bad as it sounds since it was datamined that they have level cap raises of up to 60 in the base game. Which is good to know since we know at sone point Shiva, Ramuh, Leviathan and Fenrir are primals they are working on.

Yeah I am not a huge fan of the egis also or whatever they are called. I was hoping at the very least summoner class summons the primals themselves and since arcanist lower they keep egis.

these were a whole lot better looking.
Although i see it as they did not want giant summons to cluster screen for people ( i think or got lazy in design )

on a side note if anyone would not mind answering ( dont want to derail thread ) but did they remove the weapon skill from pugilist called Simian Thrash that was unlocked at level 50? I did not see it anywhere.

Maybe I'm being optimistic but seeing how long they held back on arcanist on reveleaing anything at all. And the general reception people have been giving the egis. I'm being hopeful they'll get a redesign if not within a few patches by the first expansion.

Arcanist gets 2 forms of Carby - a magic caster DPS & a tank (don't know if it can pty tank or not)
SMN gets Garuda (replace caster Carby), Titan (replace tank Carby) & Ifrit (melee DPS). The egi's themselves are (I believe) a tiny fragment of the primal's power, hence the tiny size.
SCH gets a Healing Fairy & a Support Fairy (I think they replace Carby, but idk for sure). They both have a straight heal, Healing fairy has some AoE stuff + regen iirc, Support fairy has haste-like buffs for melee & casters.
Lucky for me, I have thm and cnj at least 15 or higher (cant recall exact level, but cnj 23 i think) so I just have to grind out that lvl 30 on arc and Ill have both
