Is there going to be a pre-2.0 threads forum wipe or archive of some sort? I keep noticing that I'm accidentally reading threads from ages ago.

I'm sure they'll segregate things into an archive of some kind to keep things clean. That only makes sense. What that'll look like, though, is anyone's guess.

I'm confused... why are you looking at old threads? You realize that if you just click on the general discussion forum, it takes you to the latest page with all the newest threads, correct? If you go into the higher numbered pages, it's obvious they are going to be older threads. It's possible they will archive, but I doubt it. I don't remember FFXI ever archiving anything.

I took it to mean they were getting old threads on searches, but I could be wrong.

I was wondering this the other day too, then I remembered that forum searches may not tell you how old a thread is in a really obvious way like page number.

I don't plan on doing anything unless they're necrobumped. If you're using the forum search feature you'll just have to keep an eye on what the date was of the original post. If you see any necro bumps I miss (the forums are getting quite busy again) just use the Report Post feature and I'll take a look.

I was more curious about this with the class forums. Many of the threads on the first page on them go back easily to 2011. I figure they'll eventually be busy enough that it doesn't matter, but they definitely are mostly old posts at this point in time.

That might be best, the old information isn't really necessary anymore and it would make it easier to discuss FFXIV ARR mechanics without outdated information available.

I wouldn't be opposed to this, although I doubt it is necessary.

I actually think a mass nuke and/or lock of the old forums may not be a bad idea.

I'm just so glad you kept this forum connected to the rest of ZAM. Smiley: blush

FFXI never failed like 1.0 did and gone offline. Most of the all FFXI posts are relevant despite their age. I'm tired googling websites that offer 1.0 posts to situations that are no longer relevant. Please frag the 1.0 posts Admin, they are a waste of space.
