So i got the 18 digit pre registration code working and they instantly give you the 16 digit one.
I enter it and get the lovely error:
The code's region is inapplicable.
You can only enter codes from the same region as your Square Enix account.
Oddly enough I have a NA SE account and a NA purchase of ARR...so yeah thanks for the incorrect code SE!

We've stumbled upon their plan for server congestion:
Keep NA users out.
At the moment the server for this is playing up, keep trying every so often it should work, people have been getting numerous errors and finally getting through it.
Weird seeing my irl lastname as a forum name.
