PSN Purchase: No valid or active service account (UPDATED)Follow

Update: Looks like the refund thing was real after all

EDIT: There is no official follow-up from either Sony or SE at the time of this edit, but we do know that:

1. The game purchased on PSN between the 13th and 15th now expires on the 23rd.
2. The game has been refunded. It does not show in transactions, but the money is in your PSN Wallet.
3. We cannot buy the game again right now

Speculation:
- some people claim that a Sony rep told them they'll get a voucher for a free game next week. I call BS on this.
- I think we'll be able to buy the game either on the 24th, or as soon as Sony finishes doing whatever they are doing.

Potential solutions:
- registering an EA code from another merchant seems to work
- purchasing another version (thanks PavetlXIV)

Just downloading and installing the game a second time on your existing PSN account won't solve the problem. If no solution is offered in time, worst case, you can create a new PSN account and purchase the game again, then try demanding a refund for original purchase (though that could take a few weeks to process)

SE and Sony have some big time problems with linking their accounts together. Let's hope they fix it before a big 10GB update comes or we'll be spending our EAs updating.

Did you make a Service Ticket?
If so, you can call the service number and talk to a real live person.
I waited 65 minutes until a carbon based life form answered, but at least there wasn't any annoying music, just a silicon based life form repeating the same message over and over: Get your ST ready, if you don't have one go to the SE website and make a ticket, then call back.

The Rep told me some people had the issue resolved when they went back to the na.preorder site and entered their code. They would then be given the RIGHT promotion code.
Not so me, I just got the same promotion code, even on different computers, so I was determined.

Unfortunately for this one, I'm pretty sure it's Sony's problem. The early access is present on my PSN account, it just doesn't want to activate. Someone on the official forums said that a SE representative told him it would activate automatically tomorrow exactly at the start of EA.

It's definitely tied to the PSN account. A Sony support rep claimed that it would work at beginning of early access, but my gut tells me the rep didn't understand the problem since people who bought the game off PSN after the 15th can register their account just fine right now. If it were that simple there would be know need to wait that long.

I am getting the same message and our code was from gamestop It was not from psn store.

I think it has to do with linking the accounts,
My pc is fine,

Oh ok. I called the Playstation Network (and they answered right away). He checked my code and that's when I found out mine was for another region and it would never work. He then gave me the telephone number to SE.

That got me further because before that I thought it was just an error whose fix was propigating through the system.

I hope your issue gets resolved. Right now mine launcher is updating and downloading. I'm more hopeful than ever.

I got my code from Gamestop. I was told its not Gamestop's issue, but SE's issue. Since SE didn't respond to ANY of my tickets I decided to call PSN and then from there SE.

i just noticed a difference in my PSN service list. where it reads:
Early Access-
Collectors Edition Pack-
it now reads:
Early Access- expires 8-23-13
Collectors Edition Pack- expires 8-23-13

It wasnt like that even an hour ago for me.

Well, I think I was able to fix my issue by applying an EA code that I had from my cancelled gamestop pre-order (I promptly cancelled on the 13th when the game became available on PSN). At first it game me an error that the code was already used but I did the registration process a second time and it went through. I linked my PSN account to my SE service account and it's patching now.

So yeah... I should not have had to do that, but apparently if you can get your hands on an EA code you can use it.

Some people are reporting that Sony is canceling and invalidating the borked purchases and refunding the money automatically. That should free you to repurchase the game in a working state. Nothing official about this yet.

Update: it appears that Sony is refunding people for the game. Looks like it's mid process. I haven't seen that myself but people on the official board are saying they get refund notices. And if I look at the game that I purchased on the 13th, it now says that it expires today. I'm pretty sure the was no expiration date just an hour ago.

So, they are working on the issue. It looks like it will mean that we'll have to buy it again after a refund. I hope it doesn't mean we'll have to download a second time though.,

You bought the game on PSN, correct? Check your wallet. You should have an additional 39.99 in it. I assume Sony will contact us soon to let use know we have to puchase the game again when it expires at midnight.

Well I fixed my problem... I was logging into psn network with my account and not Tesee's... The early access code is Tesse's. So I was trying to install hers under my psn account.. I forget the ps3 logs into mine by default. Once I logged into hers it worked perfect. Basically I was trying to log into FFXIV with Tesee's SE account through my psn account.

Obviously my PSN account is linked to my SE account and Tesee's PSN account to her SE account.

It's anyone's guess at this point. Apparently some customer reps are saying in a week but it'll be a free voucher, in addition to the game being (already) reimbursed. I call BS on that... personally I think when it expires at midnight we can buy again.

I agree. There's no way SE will let us miss both EA and Launch. That would be very bad press for them.

so here's a question...

i preordered on august 14th and i just got the money back in my wallet. before i had the refund i talked to a friend who preordered on august 16th(no issues with his digital copy) and preordered on amazon. he has since cancelled his amazon order but gave me his pre order code that came with it. it's a valid code, i have the psn code now. should i use it or wait to see what happens with the whole refund thing?

this is the customers reps information. Since I bought the standard edition, I might add 20 USD and buy the CE edition and start patching the game. I just dont know if I should delete the client and then redownload it. I'm not fancy about doing this but if it grants me EA it might worht the try.

I just got off the phone with PSN customer service. I was told SE will be refunding all affected accounts IN FULL. Plus, we will be getting a voucher to redownload the game FOR FREE with "extra entitlements."

Drawback is the XMB message will be arriving early next week.

Submitting for a refund takes 5-7 days and no codes can be used until it goes through.

We cannot preorder from another merchant and use the new code. It will NOT work."


You can take it for what it's worth... If this is true, then we have been royally screwed over.

I used an EA code and I was able to login and apply it to my service account, so it seems like it works as a solution. However, there's always the risk that it's gonna mess something up later, like when you buy the game maybe it'll cause an issue that you already have the early access. Who knows. I don't think it's a big risk though.

Hmmm...

So money back, get the game for free with "extra entitlements" (I'm assuming the standard preorder bonuses + CE items if we bought that version), but lose out on Early Access in exchange?

...You know, SE and Sony were annoying me to the point of wanting to go Super Saiyan on them...but I guess I can downgrade it to a Kaioken. Losing out on Early Access sucks big time, but refunds and getting the game for free along with all of the extra stuff mostly makes up for it, if everything stands as it is based on current information.

so whats going on with ffxiv from the psn store. I pre ordered the game from psn and i try to log in and no service account message pops up. I'm in no rush as i work 8 hours tomorrow. But i'm off sunday and monday.

I'm just curious if anything concerte was posted. I'm bann from the official forums from an incident 2 years ago. so i can't ask on the official forums.

Well, since I bought the standar edition I just added 20 USD to my PSN and bought the CE edition. Now the error is gone and I am currently downloading the remaining patch.

From the official forums again...

"OK, sony support confirms that we can do one of two things:

1. wait till early next week and get the game for free (compensation for the error and not getting early access), or maybe just can re-purchase once the code essentially removes that you had already purchased, was not fully clear... (think get game for free, but have funds in account to use on something else)
2. purchase the other version of the game (and get early access)

I am buying the standard edition now, and will spend 20 on the 27th for digital upgrade to CE, or posibly just skip the SE now. Only issue is the extra $20 on the PSstore needs to be used in the store. likewise, anyone who gets the game free now, needs to se that money in the store"


After buying the standard edition, he was able to login and start downloading the update. So this is a way to go. Just keep in mind that this is all Sony's side of fixing things. My guess is SE is desperately trying to figure out another way that we can all get in for EA, and so they're not posting anything in the meantime.

Of course, I just HAD to start with the CE from the beginning...hindsight, 20/20.

Well, guess I'll stay up until midnight to see if we do luck out on being able to just buy a new version of the game, but if not... welp, being in the military has taught me, many times the hard way, that sh*t happens. Guess I should brace myself to the possibility that I'm waiting until Tuesday to play. (And my duty day is Wednesday...bah...)

Anyone know whats going on? I found the 39.99 in my psn wallet any update to a fix? idk if i can afford getting the CE version (i bought 1.0 CE so i had the ingame items already so spending that much is pointless) i'm not one to complain but i've been waiting 3 years to play ffxiv... any idea whats up?

Sorry... no one knows what's going on. And SE has not said anything at all. Some people have managed to get responses from Sony customer service which you can read in my last post. If you can't afford the CE, then you just gotta sit tight and hope that SE manages to fix this. I just want some official word so I know whether the only way to get EA is to buy the CE.

uidk if i have $20 on my card i had 47 and i bought terraria fir 15. then i bought food from a pizza shop (roughly $7 worth.) i suck at basic math...... anyone mind giving me a hand.
