Trying to get a friend some info:

He pre-ordered standard edition for ARR for PS3 from Gamestop Online.

1. I'm operating under the assumption that standard edition pre-orders get early access.

2. If assumption #1 is true, where does he get the code? Should it be from gamestop? Or should he get a code from gamestop that he can use on the http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com/ site?

If assumption #1 is false, ignore me and move along.

He should have gotten an 18 digit code in his confirmation email from Gamestop. If he didn't he needs to call gamestop support and demand one. Don't let them tell him he needs to get it from SE...that's not going to happen...

What Jaggars said. Make sure to call and not use e-mail support. Not that they won't send you the code via e-mail support (they will) but it takes a few days and obviously you don't have that.

If you go into the store they will give it to you on the printed receipt.

He may also want to check his spam box in his email. My pre-order code from Amazon was in an email separate from my order confirmation.

I believe only the collectors editions get the early access.

Incorrect, any edition that pre-orders gets early access

Haha. Well dang. I was more interested in the early access rather than the ingame items, could've saved a few bucks on and pre-ordered the standard edition.

Live and learn.. and read the details.

I preordered a few days ago at a Gamestop store, and they forgot to print the XXXX-xxx-XXXX-xxx code on the receipt. All I had to do was call back in there to ask, and they told me to swing back out there and they printed it out for me. You might be able to call your nearest Gamestop and have them hook you up with a code if they have any left. You might have to show some form of proof of purchase though.
