I usually play mages in every MMO and even table top games but I have always wanted to try out a healer. Been a part of too many bad healer groups that I figured I will just do it myself. So far the early levels in dungeons have been pretty annoying since it seems people don't understand that they should target the same mob as the tank. Healing 3 different people for a non boss fight isn't really what I should be doing lol.

I have been a DD in pretty much every game I've ever played. I wanted to try something fresh for ARR. Also, I like the constant action. It feels good to save somebody's @$$.

Granted I haven't done much with it yet - but I'm enjoying it so far.

My main has always been a healer in every MMO I've been in, so it's my first choice due to familiarity. I will play other jobs, of course, but healing has always been my thing.

As for group healing: you'll probably have to get used to watching multiple health bars. There's always going to be adds, and the tank is not always going to be able to handle all of them. My suggestion is to make macros that select specific group members and heal them, thus making it a little more manageable.

'course, yeah, you can't control how frenzied your group is a lot of the time, but you can only do as well as you can do...

I played RDM and WHM at 75 in FFXI. WHM is just downright useful wherever you go. If you want to get into the really awesome fun endgame stuff, being useful to a good end game crew is the way to go. ;)

CNJ seems interestingly balanced, too. No melee soloing for us like for WHM in FFXI from Lv.1-5, we get exclusive access to damage spells using the wind and earth elementals. Kind of interesting, and I suspect that CNJ will end up being a lot more than just a healer in the long run, especially since it seems they've done away with RDM and split its former role up between the existing disciples of magic classes.

I just like support jobs, whether its buffers, debuffers, or healers. Until they bring back my real bard, cnj is really the best option. Also, there's a certain amount of playing with add hate and critical decision making that's a lot of fun for game play, especially when it comes to pvp. In pvp, having to use your tools to survive and still keep others alive is hard to find playing DD classes.

I usually played DD classes like mages or archers in every MMO. Heck even in table top games I am usually a ranger/rogue/thief/assassin/insert stealthy dps type character here.

Well thats a perfectly valid reason....the only reason I have gld at 15 was because I wasn't sure if the requirements changed or not so I leveled it up to be safe

Loved WHM in XI, hoping to channel a little bit of that again :) I'm sure I'll check out some of the melee classes, but I'm really down with support jobs in general.

Was working on THM but couldn't get a group for dungeons. Swapped to CON and got insta invites so I reckon I will roll with this for awhile haha. On a side note healing is pretty fun, even more so when the PUG runs ahead of the tank and aggros everything.

Mostly because WHM was my first job in my first mmo (FFXI) so I definitely want to get my classes worked up to unlock that job. I'm all about the the holy trinity.

Ahaha so true. I love the little sound it makes when you heal people... it's an addicting sound like the ones you can hear in Casinos... You want to keep playing/healing!

When I started out as a Conjurer it was way back in 1.0 and Conjury encompassed almost everything to do with the main schools of magic. All elemental spells, heals and buffs. Thaumaturge at the time used Dark and Light spells like Scourge and Dia to deal damage and had drain spells for HP.

I levelled both. In truth though, I've always been attracted to healing jobs. In FFXI my main was white mage, with Scholar providing a nice alternative. I guess I just love being able to help people out in a more direct way. Healing random low levels as I go to help them with missions or raising the fallen. I enjoy the game most when I'm beneficial to others.

I like healing, and I liked WHM in XI, but honestly I wanted to be sure I could maximize my time in queues at the onset of the game. I'm having fun, and I knew I'd have fun no matter what I started with, but I really hated waiting so long for parties in XI. Reading that tanks and healers make parties first locked in my starting class. I've been impressed with the elemental spells given to CNJ, and I like the pace. I just went 1-10 last night and am excited for my first dungeon.

Healing is a role that comes naturally to me. I was an old school white mage in FF11, so it was pretty natural for me to want to play one in 14. Perhaps it's just me but I love keeping people alive in a hard dungeon, especially a chaotic one with lots of adds. :)

I wanted a cure spell, so I figured I wouldt start CNJ and then switch later... but that never actually happened. Sure I went and started all the other class jobs, but aside from getting Lancer to level 8, and Archer to 3... I've focused mainly on Conj and am at 25 now...the story line is GREAT! I don't see me ever quitting, even to become Whm Smiley: lol (Ok I will become Whm eventually..)

I'm still on my up and up, but I like being one of the classes that's important for success. I may try out tanking in FFXIV, but healing first! Played resto druid in WOW for various expansions.. as for why I'm thinking of White Mage, I don't think I could be satisfied with managing a pet for the Scholar class.

I get dungeons and stuff done faster.
Never really have played a healer in a MMO. I usually start off as a DPS and become a Tank. I decided to just be healer this time, I'll level LNC later (it is already at 30).
Healing has so far not been to bad.

ARC takes 30 min to queue, and CNJ takes between 1-10 seconds usually.

I like to feel like I'm helping and I like magic, so I figure the CNJ/WHM path is a pretty good one to go down.

I actually wanted to be SCH initially, since SCH became by absolute favourite in FFXI by the end. However, it looks like WHM will wind up being what I play, mainly because when my fiancee jumped to Archer and I joined on CNJ, we never got back around for me to power Arcanist up past CNJ to become SCH.

I don't mind, WHM seems pretty badass this time around.

Was playing an Arc, started the Conj to get to 15 for Scholar and was also going to get a Thaumaturge to 15 for Summoner as well.

I'm now a 28 conj and haven't looked back. I at the time decided to do the Conj first to get the boring class out of the way, lol, so glad i did. Never played a healer before and turns out i'm really enjoying it, obviously.

Plus only waiting 1 to 10 seconds on average for dungeon instead of 30 minutes or more is the cherry on top. I'm running dungeons all the time getting good gear and i gotta say my 28 conj kills mobs far faster than my 30 Arc.
