Oh well, needed to go grocery shopping anyways. It's quite possible this maintenance is the only way that was going to happen today....

Yet again Japanese servers had no issue. Seems to me NA/EU are getting the short end of the stick or being given sub par quality when it comes to servers or server load sustainability.

Or the fact the expected it to be bigger over there. Id like to see the numbers before I judge. Guarantee its more than they anticipated obviously by the problems theyre getting.

Ever stop to think that the NA/EU datacenter is holding more people on the servers, hence the higher load?

Jesus people stop and think.

Man, I wish I could do that, but I've played it out so hard (beat every difficulty, unlocked every achievement) that I don't think I can get any more mileage out of Remastered beyond trying to fight other people for leaderboard standings. Smiley: lol

Still, very good remake of an NES game, that's for sure.

I wish they expanded the server size. It doesn't SEEM like they did. They had plenty of data from beta and ea code redemptions.

Ever stop to think they might have allotted more server space to the Japanese population per player (player per server?) because they like them better?

Jesus person, stop and think.

You must still be half-asleep given that you didn't even finish the second sentence. Fail.

NA/EU servers had issues in beta and now live, whereas Japanese servers have had zero noticeable issues. It comes to either sub par quality or simply giving NA/EU players less consideration when it comes to providing additional server resources.

Maintenance happens. But when you see it happen to only half the game population repeatedly, then people might start getting annoyed. Either way - time for lunch.

I'd probably be more narked if I hadn't already played about 6 hours straight ;p I certainly expected more emergency maintenances than this, here's hoping we don't. But I'm sure many people remember how unplayable ffxi was due to maintenances at cetain periods of its past. :P

Any idea how many people were logged in? Judging by the numbers insisting ZAM right now had to be more than any point during 1.0. Just ball parking.

I do want to point out here, that it IS a Japanese company, and them giving their homeland more attention doesn't seem too out of the question to me. American and European companies do it all the time. I for one think it was a smooth launch until the maintenance. Also, they had a record amount of people in beta, which means they probably had wayyyyy more people than they anticipated in EA, especially after a failed 1.0. Take this time to do something productive IRL so when the servers do come back up you can make the best of your time on them.

outside the instance problem the game was running fine too, placing queues to avoid massive influx of players at once really worked to reduce the lag.

This is the reason why I didn't plan or call off today. Never met a launch without problems.

Nice that they were somewhat prompt on the maintenance though.
