You have a few choices.
Weaver - armour for most slots
Carpenter - 2h staffs
Alchemist - 1h wands
Goldsmith - all jewellery

I recommend goldsmith, jewelry is good for all the classes you play. Though as a caster, you'll probably be doing other casters for their abilities so weaver is a good option too.

And Culinary. You should always be eating food, for stat and xp boosts.
I'm a CNJ now and I'm going to start on goldsmithing as soon as I can complete the instanced level 10 cnj guild quest. Goldsmithing was pretty lucrative in FFXI, and some of the jewelry items in this game seem pretty useful, plus there're a lot of jewelry slots. Might get into mining as well, as that could supplement GS very well.
I spotted yesterday my weaver can make all of the good clothes for the l5 and17 lv synced fights " and later fights" instead of buying them. Shoes and wrist is leather ,weapon and shield is carpenter. i'm going weaver, all the other I picked up in quest or bought. I'm legacy and a cheapskate.
