After the emergency maintenance on the North American/European data Worlds which was conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 25, to confirm the optimization of the matching server for the Duty Finder, we will be limiting the login more than usual. We will be relieving the limitation gradually as we see oversee the status.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may caues, but we would like to ask for your continued cooperation to make this a stable environment.

I understand people want to play and are upset, but I totally expect this kind of crap to be happening for atleast a week or two *after* release. That is not a consolation, it's just how it is. Speak with your wallet at the end of the month, I'm hoping the game does well.

At least they are keeping us informed. I don't like all the downtime either, but i kind of expected it.

Then what's the news on why the server list is unobtainable?
#8REDACTED, Posted: Aug 25 2013 at 11:27 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) They are continuing to **** over NA players.

I'm really not as forgiving considering I've been through it for 3 years now. I just want to play the damn game I paid for. Yes its launch, but honestly they screwed up by having such a short and small phase 4. Which failed miserably by the way. They needed more time and instead just ******** over the user base once again. They keep ruining the franchise.

Want an educated guess?

How strained do you think the lobby server is right now with every NA/EU player simultaneously trying to get through the server limits every 2 seconds?

I actually don't expect it to happen this way for the next week or two. Maybe it will, but that's below par for a AAA MMO these days.

I'm sure they want to get things fixed ASAP, so it's fairly pointless to rage and call names, but so far they've dropped the ball with the duty finder/instance server issues. It's too important a gameplay issue, and the servers have been down too much without any solution, to just pretend it's MMO launch as usual.

Limiting access (since they obviously won't improve hardware to satisfy demand - lest they be left with a lot of unused capacity after the game launches) is an acceptable short-term solution. Removing the queues, however, is not. It's not our responsibility to either a) try to brute force our way into the game or b) do something else until access is available. It is their responsibility to provide access to the game within the given time-frame at our convenience. They work for us, not the other way around.

#14REDACTED, Posted: Aug 25 2013 at 11:34 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It is NOT acceptable, people PAID to play, and cant. Will SE make it up to us? Probably not SE likes ******** over the NA

Phase 4 was a complete failure and so is the launch. It's just ruining the game. They should of held off another month, bought more servers and actually made sure they could handle launch time load. They totally dropped the ball and totally failed. I don't understand how they allow this to happen. ESPECIALLY after everything that happened with 1.0. I'm starting to think this company will never learn anything new...

Yes, it sucks. No one will disagree with you there. Has it tarnished the shiny hopes that everyone had for launch? Yes. Is it also limited to one aspect of the game that's giving us all so much hassle? Yes. Outside of this one, specific area of trouble, is the game pretty darn good? Yes.

I'm sure they will provide some form of recompense once it's been discussed with the powers-that-be, and they have continually apologized in several ways. They also have been working around-the-clock to solve the problem, and informing us about it. There's not much point in getting mad about it until we see what the final fall-out is, but the damage will be greater to their wallet than yours, which is unfortunate for all of the hard work they put into ARR. They want it fixed far more than you do, for their own sake, and nothing is more of a motivator than self-preservation.

That's entirely too long. They realistically have 48-72 hours after launching their product (which is what they did on Saturday, make no mistake) to get their ducks in a row and still claim "launch issues."

They didn't do stress testing, they grossly misproportioned their server hardware. Welcome to the result.

Limiting access by not letting servers load for us? Thats a really odd way to do it. I'm not totally convinced its intentional.
