American Players Going to Jp Servers?Follow

Just wondering if it's any better there. I'm at work right now, but am wondering if we can log in easier over there? And if so, are there enough American players to team up with?

I've seen many NA players going to JP servers, and I've tried that myself. It was empty compared to NA servers.

The servers are less crowded during NA prime time, but apparently during JP prime time they're having most of the same issues as the NA servers.

JP servers during p4 was great, even with the massive influx of 3102 refugees. I imagine it would be the same now. If you wanted to test how certain things work like crafting or fishing that's the great place to be for now. But all my progression is on the US servers and I'm not giving that up.

I made a character on the JP Typhoon server and messed around there when I couldn't log in to Ultros yesterday.

I am on Ridill too and it is great. Best of both worlds since the wife is Japanese. Noname, what's your character name? If I could get a LS invite it would be great. My char is Luminus Are'mecia. Thanks!!

My name on there is Emorej Blacksoul. I don't recall the name off hand of the LS since I just joined before logging. I also was somehow made a master of a LS (I think due to everyone transferring). That one is called Obscura.

If I hadn't baited all of my friends into playing on Ultros, I might consider doing the same.

Not quite, I play in JP prime time (only 1 hour ahead of Tokyo) on Masamune. There are character creation restrictions on certain servers, there are queues to log in plus a lot of lag in certain places (especially FATE near main story spots, people will start zerging in) but I have not seen an error code. Population on a whole is healthy.

my 1.0 char was on durandal. Since I know I will enjoy the game more (even if I have to play by myself) without having to regrind all my levels, I am going to stay on that server till we are allowed to server transfer again

I was on Titan last night, and may make the stay.
Here is why:
-Old online friend is getting the game. I played FFXI with him in the past, so we know what is up when it comes to playing to JP (as should anyone who has played XI).
-Our prime time 4PST-7EST to Midnight PST-3amEST (pick your time zone in between) is like early morning Japanese time (8am) to late afternoon (4pm).
*note I took in all prime time for NA (because that is where I live...). When is prime time? I don't know. 4pmPST seems like a good number. I gave 8 hours of game time to each Time zone, for their prime time. This number has to be way off.
I know I will log on between 6-7pm CST and only play til about 10 CST.
Weekends are always up in the air with prime times, because most can probably stay on longer thus pushing the time farther.
-I've already been told there is an auto-trans. If they wish to not use it, well then there will be no communication. A Risk I'm willing to take because..
-Friends. Online friend says he has a group of workers who want to give it a go, I might have a group of RL friends who may want to give it ago...so we just built a small English speaking community.

I want t transfer to Ridill when we get a chance to move servers. I am on a Legacy server but never got a chance to get eh Ridill in XI. And if there is NA players on there then I am in for sure, assuming I can make the cut and get in the LS.

Would be interesting to hear about fights with timing like Ifrit for NA playing in Japan. Especially the east coast players.

I haven't had any problems playing so far on Kujata. Only downside is the extremely low population when I'm online. I'm not sure how it looks during JP primetime. On the plus side, I'm actually able to play the game.

As in Server lag?
All servers for XI were in Japan, or so I always took it. There doesn't seem to be much of a fuss. I see a person skip here and there, but is that me? or them? I've done no real big fight where I may need to counter or move out of the way. The few fights of stuff I did, when I hit the action button, I swung my axe.

I have playing on kujata as well. The DF wait took a good long while though, that's the only problem I have had so far.

I should have stayed there instead of taking advantage of the free world transfer to play with my ZAM friends.

yeah it worked out for me. I was kind of bummed at first cause I missed the chance to move to a NA server, but it seems like there are a bunch of other NA peeps who are in the same boat (or didn't feel like transferring) cause one of my LS had a lot of people in it still, and they invited me to an even more populated LS, which is really all a person needs.

Came home from work last night and logged right in no problems all night long. And now that I have the LS "Acrylic", it's no longer a ghost server.

Not a good idea. Japanese servers are just as restricted as the NA/EU ones atm.

That may be the case but their peek hours don't coincide with ours. I have never had to wait to get on.
