I got my scholar to 34 this weekend and let me say It's awesome. The fairy heals its **** off letting me DPS. I though i would just stay SMN once unlocked since it looks awesome but the play style definitely goes to SCH. My first major accomplishment. The boss in Halitali. The drake that shoots Dunder at you. I got ushered into a 3 man with Japanese speakers via the Duty finder. No tank. They both died and release even though I could battle raise them. I was locked in the room alone. I dotted and kitted the elementals and boss and beat it from 50% solo. The fairy keep me alive the whole time. So much win.

So you can heal as a SCH in dungeons lower than level 30?

I wasn't sure how that would work with the level sync.

You sure can. And you can do it with your fairy who can pretty much heal the whole instance solo.

Does the Fairy heal other Arcanist/Summoner pets?

No it does not heal pets. That's left to the other people who own pets. It's up to them to keep it alive, but the player itself can heal the pet if need be. Using the skill called Sustain. The Scholar is a defensive White Mage that comes with Shields that negates incoming damage based on how much you heal them for, so if you Critical Heal 600 on someone with your shield, then that shield won't drop until 600 Damage goes through it. Pretty nifty. I main SCH.

Actually crit heals double the shield so that would be 1200 damage.

Quote:
Restores target's HP. Cure Potency: 300
Additional Effect: Erects a magicked barrier which nullifies damage equalling the amount of HP restored. When critical HP is restored, damage nullification is doubled.
Duration: 30s

I am absolutely loving scholar as well. I use my SMN for questing and farming, but love the play style of SCH much more for everything else. Playing SCH feels like you are a healer with a dark side. If I am lucky enough to part up with a Bard that is kind enough to keep Mage's Ballad up, then I can continuously heal and DPS to my hearts content. Great great fun

My SCH is my main at 50 and i love it. SCH really shines on HM fights and other endgame fights such as Chimera. Micro managing Eos will really make you stand out in the crowd of healers. I have not even unlocked SMN as all of my attribute points have gone into my MND. I have been flammed in game becasue i haven't unlocked SMN yet, i find it so far pointless. Any quest or mob I need to kill, i do, or just change to ARN. Granted it takes me some time because my DOT's are craptacular, but the mobs have zero chance in killing me with my healing potency being so high and Eos's unlimited mp pool. When Rouse and Sustain are combo'd with Succor, your all but invincible.

Ryan I totally agree with you on the sheer awesomeness that is SCH, and I share your admiration for our good friend Eos. However, I would suggest opening up SMN for questing and farming, it really does make things go so much quicker. Simply by equiping the stone you get a huge INT boots, so you will really save a lot of time. Plus having Titan as your own personal ***** doesn't hurt your ego ;)

May I also inquire about the usefulness of Selene? I have yet to take advantages of the services of that young lady. Does she have uses at endgame? I was guess in larger raid type content where we would be asked to play more of a support healing role, but I don't know.
