Let us clear our minds from this ridiculous error 1017 that everyone is getting and talk about in-game things here.

I was told that you can macro mining so that you do not have to manually click something in the list given to mine that item. Is there such a macro?

Something like

/gather item 4

or something like that?

Not that I know of... but would it really be all that helpful? The cursor remembers your last mining node, so it stays on the same item the next node you get to. Not really needed, unless I'm misunderstanding.

I'm on PC and use the mouse. If I could press a keybind when in a farming session instead of right clicking on a node then putting my mouse over the item I want it would be a time saver in the long run. It should be possible.

You can! If you go to your keybinds, there is a confirm keybind in there somewhere. I can't remember where exactly, but if you set your confirm keybind to a button (mine is w), it will confirm the choice selected in your mining list. There is also an option for targeting in there that let's you target objects (such as mining nodes) so that you can select the node with that button, then confirm your selection, then confirm your memorized cursor and mine to your hearts content! Will it remember the position from node to node or only for one node?
