PS3 USERS: HOW TO REGISTER YOUR CODES and PAYMENT METHODSFollow

#1 Aug 27 2013 at 4:49 PM Rating: Excellent
Okay folks, it took me a while to figure this out, and if you've been following my posts you have seen my confusion. Here is a step by step to registering your codes for play:

1) Log into your PSN account on your PS3 and on the XMB go to Redeem Code.
2) On the card inside your case labeled "Registration Code" (the purple and white one), enter that and redeem that code. Download the game if needed.
3) Now, go to your browser on your PS3 or your PC and go to http://member.square-enix.com/na or http://goo.gl/MFGjTp if it 404's like it does for me (I'm using the latest build of Chrome and for whatever reason it 404's every time I enter that in). Log into your SE account.

4) In the top right corner hit your account name, and then hit My Profile in the drop down box.
5) Towards the bottom it'll say Registered Games: # -- hit Add New Game below it and register the code on the card that says Product Registration Card (the black, red, and white one that's like a little half card inside the case). This'll register the product onto your SE account. (why this is a two stage process, I'll never know).

6) You'll notice that not a **** thing has changed except the product is registered. Your Mog Station will still say you have no subscription, etc etc. Go back to your PS3 and log into the game. Now and only now will it ask you to register the actual FFXIV service to your SE account. Once you accept the terms and conditions and add the game as a service, you can manage it online at the Mog Station.

I don't know why it took all that for me to register my game, I've been fiddling with it for over 45 minutes. But that's what needs done to register your PS3 copy of the game, get your bonus 30 days, and manage it at the Mog Station.

Cheers,

Dare Knight

PS: Having the PS3 version of the game doesn't allow you to access it on your PC. I just tried to log in and received the error:

"No valid or active service account is available to play FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Proper registration through the FINAL FANTASY XIV: Mog Station is required.

* Users participating in early access must also complete registration by August 30, 2013. Using the code enclosed with your package, please complete registration through the FINAL FANTASY XIV: Mog Station."

PS #2: If you add the Windows Digital Download from here, you will get an ADDITIONAL 30 days of game time, and for $19 more you can upgrade to the CE. AFAIK bonus time counts towards the subscription time for the bonuses coming up.

Screenshot

Proof of the 60 days of game time. The upgrade option from SE to CE will be listed right under where it says "Collectors Edition" for me. It'll provide a link to upgrade from there right under those words.

Also while I'm at it, if you hit Automatic Renewal you'll be able to set up your credit card for your subscription. You'll be able to select the type of subscription and the length up to 180 days. Valid forms of payment are listed below:

Screenshot

Here are the differences to Entry and Standard subscriptions:

Added the little bit at the end about the additional 30 days of gametime for anyone interested. All in all you'd be getting 60 bonus days and all the digital CE stuff for $80. Not bad if you ask me.

And thanks, I aim to please :D

Where is the option to upgrade to CE if you register both codes? And can you provide the source or link to the information-- this option is absolutely awesome!

You rule... Slick move boss... UPS just showed up right when servers dropped so time to register haha... Thank you.

Question... If I was in p4 and EA, should I be concerned about having to DL the game again?

Edited, Aug 27th 2013 7:23pm by chomama

I'd like to note that it might be easier for ppl go to the SE site and login directly from there. I know I had some confusion for a moment because my the account management page differs from the page the OP is talking about. (If that makes sense)... But ya, things seem to be in order...

I updated the OP with a screenshot of my Mog Station. Right below where it says Collector's Edition for me is where the link will be to upgrade. You'll also see there that I have 60 days of gametime instead of 30.

Not at all, your P4 and EA client will work just fine.

Good play, sir.

I'm all giddy about that option. Will they send you a physical copy of a CE or just give you the in-game items? Do you know?
#9 Aug 27 2013 at 5:29 PM Rating: Good
It's just the in-game items and digital download option. I'd love to have the discs and the books but for the price I'm paying I'm not entirely unhappy with the purchase for 60 days of game time and in-game items.

Might want to add this to further alleviate game registration anxiety.

Standard vs Entry

Thanks for this post.

Is this protocol for those who will be playing with the disk on PS3?

I'm currently running EA on the P4 Beta client.

Thanks.

Yes. Whether you're using the disc or not, this is what you need to do to register your game codes. I had a friend of mine try to just register the PS3 code on the PSN and then log into the game but the service account wasn't being added to his SE account, so I can confirm that these trivial extra steps are unfortunately necessary :\

If you have the EA or P4 client you don't need to delete and reinstall, you can just update that client.

I received my PS3 CE from SE on Saturday morning. I was able to easily register the game on SE's website, but as of yet PSN is not cooperating. Time to log off and try. I just got my Chocobo and I want my barding!
Thanks for the write-up. I hope this works now.

Good post Darex. I finally figured out how to get my Amazon PC digital download CE to register tonight. Unfortunately for me that only added 30 days of game time but thats all I expected. Cudos for you who get 60 though :)
#21 Aug 27 2013 at 7:34 PM Rating: Good
Thank you everyone :) I only have 60 because I also grabbed a copy of the Windows version so I can play on both. I didn't realize it would give me another 30 days.

Hopefully my info helps, Filth!

I finally got my credit card entered on my account by allowing global scripts thru NoScript. However, when I click on Add Platform and enter my registration code, it says it's already been registered. Dead end. Can't do anything more. I have 3 days left, and no clue how to tell them I want 3 months, or recurring charge every month, or what subscription I want.
Maybe I'm just stupid, or maybe I have early onset dementia or something. :P
I'm not working this week, had it all planned.
/early onset balding for sure

I still can't play my PS3 version of the game. I never received any code after I downloaded the PS3 version of the game, and whenever I type in my pre-existing Square Enix account on the PS3 a text appears saying that service is invalid or w/e.

Mogstation doesn't let me link my accounts either :/

No service account issue. This is the same issue we have. I had to go purchase a version from the store to fix this issue. Good luck getting SE to help with this.

I did it a bit different. I went to account management and entered the code XXXX-XXXX-XXXX on the back of my booklet into the redeem codes section. This allowed me to download the client, but I already had it bacause of beta and early access so I canceled the download. Then I went and logged on through the FFXIV disc (not the old client) and got to the log in screen (where all the developer's messages are). I logged in there and it made me accept the contract agreement again. Then it made me register my game to my SE account. I did not add a new account through this process, but instead proceeded with my old account that was already selected.

So no, you do not have to first log onto the browser to register the game before the PS3 will let you register.

I will have to try this. My PS3 code still doesn't let me d/l the game client via PSN store. I have the Beta 3 and phase4 (early access) client on the PS3, but it keeps saying I don't have the game linked it to my account... MogStation keeps saying that I only have a windows version.

I followed all of this and registered the game to my Square Enix Account but I also had to register a pre-order/early access code service as well.

It seems all of my data and character stuff has only been saved on the early access code which has now been deactivated. Square Enix for some reason have not set it up to move over automatically and are now out of office for the weekend so I cannot contact them to sort it. The form I fill out to ask them to transfer the service account says it can take 2 weeks!!!!

Sorry for my necroposting, but this thing is driving me crazy. I've done everything written in the 5 points, but: 6) You'll notice that not a **** thing has changed except the product is registered. Your Mog Station will still say you have no subscription, etc etc. Go back to your PS3 and log into the game. Now and only now will it ask you to register the actual FFXIV service to your SE account. Once you accept the terms and conditions and add the game as a service, you can manage it online at the Mog Station.

This doesn't happen to me. I start the game, I insert my credentials and it still says to me that I have to go to the mog station because my free trial is finished. Nothing about linking an account or whatever. please, help me!
Necro Warning: This post occurred more than thirty days after the prior, and may be a necropost.
#34 Jan 16 2014 at 2:54 AM Rating: Excellent
No problem! I'm happy to be able to answer your question. If you've run the trial, you've clearly already associated your SE account with your PSN ID and whatnot. What you need to do now is log into your Mog Station and update your payment information, it'll charge you for the service length you choose, and you'll be all set to go.

Screenshot

This is what it looks like for me.
