Because I've been locked out of the game for 6 hours, I'll just talk about it.

What do you want to see in the first expansion?

It's time to add a Rogue class

2nd jobs branching from current classes.

Firearms.

Ishgard.

I know that's a lot so I'd settle for any if the above :)

Oh, and I want to see Thief and Blue Mage, a huge new hub city/region, some more unique story characters (like Prishe which can't be made in character creation), music by Mizuta, and instances which require 6 to 8 people.

A nice background for the 1017 error screen, black is a little lame IMO.

Chocobo raising and racing. I'd also like to see DRG have a pet like days of old. Gardening in your home. More jobs and a CoP'esque new area and story line. One that was just as hard, too.

Later on down the road I'd like to see more primals for SMN. I also wouldn't mind Ifrit to have a remodel. I always found FFX's Ifrit to just be amazing. EVERY other Ifrit I've seen has sucked in my humble opinion.

Maybe at some point connect somewhere to Batalia Downs and let us explore what Vana's turned into.

New continent.

More throwbacks, hopefully to XI.

SAM,NIN, and THF.

The addition of NMs ala XI.

In depth Chocobo racing with real circuits, like Mario Kart.

Dueling.

A class like Hunter in WoW.

Swimming.

An area like Kazham.

A Transmogrify system.

and much, much more!

- RDM
- NIN
- I would love to see how Fencer and Duelist class/jobs I saw speculated on turn out when intro'd into the game.
- a Dynamis like time sink activity
- single handed axes, rapier type swords, guns,
- a kick *** story element that actually draws you in
- new areas and friendly cities... Like big ones

Ok, putting the subject and my distaste for your trends aside for a moment.

This actually concerns me. I got home from work, I attempted to log in, and within an hour, I was in.

If you've been trying to log in consistently, you should have been in by now. I have to wonder why my circumstances are different from yours in this case. To be perfectly clear, I've been paitently, but persistently attempting to get in every night, and I have been successful every night. When I'm done. I log out, and attempt again the next night.

What region are you trying from, and how are you attempting to get in?

I'm trying to determine if this is a method issue or a ping issue. If it's not a ping issue, then we may be able to help people who've not gotten in easily get some playtime.
-end aside-

On the subject -

I want Ishgard. If Fencer/Red Mage is not released by then, it's the perfect place for it to happen as the city has a very similar to San'doria from FFXI in some regards, which was where a lot of the Red Mage context and lore came from to being with for that game - so the themes seem to fit well together.

Beyond that, no requests, no expectations. I want to experience what I have here first before formulating an opinion on what path the future of the game should take.

Ok, this is not a ping difference issue. I'm trying from PA, and you're closer than I am unless you're southern east coast, and even then the differences are minimal.

I am also on Balmung, Legacy Server, and one of the ones on Perma-lockdown for character creation. I checked this evening and Midgard still had character creation open.

So I need to know more.

How are you attempting to get in, how frequently? If you are getting the "Cant find NA/EU Database." error commonly?

I'd like you to play Killua, as well as any of the people who are having these kind of problems. "

I was just spamming trying to get in like everybody else, but I'm done now. I can see the server list, but I just get the 1017 error instantly when I choose to log in as my character. Guess I'll just try tomorrow or something.

If you lose sight of the server list, you have to log out of your client and give it a minute and log back it. Typically, right after that, you'll get a fair shot at going in. If you're not resetting your client at that point, you've pretty much shot yourself in the foot in chances.

Additionally. I gave it a few moments between span of attempts. Spam for one minute, take three to five minutes just sitting there starting at the character. There were situations when I did that, and I got in without even a queue.

Anyways, sorry you diddn't get in tonight. If you've got the mornings, 8am had no problems for me logging in this morning. Maybe call in sick?

I've been trying randomly (probably a solid 50 attempts) over the last 5 hours to no avail. I'm on Ultros. Not to be confused with online.

Bacon Mage. But in all seriousness.

Bacon Mage.

And more DEX type jobs for sure. The standard THF NIN and DNC would be welcome added job.

And Bacon Mage.

Yeah, that only skips some. There are others, mainly extended animation sequences in quests, that are intolerably long and can't be skipped.

Again, this seems ironic to me because SE's calling card is their ability to tell a good story. If you want to mash your way through or even skip the story, why are you playing? I can understand the lame xp side quests, but I've really enjoyed the main story line quests so far. Your major complaint was having to watch the airship cutscene, which I thought was excellent. Agree to disagree I suppose, but if you dislike the story, why play a Final Fantasy game?

It's not just FF.. I find pretty much all the writing in computer games ranging from mediocre to simply awful.

I think game developers should focus on the actual game aspects and leave storytelling to authors, video to Hollywood.

But everyone thinks they're an "artist" nowadays...

I would like to see the obvious addition of new classes, like the Ninja or Samurai. Machinist would be a cool class for the firearms. More tank classes would be a plus.

Would Samurai be a good tank class? If I remember, in Tactics they could take a pretty good beating. Were they in FFXI, and if so, which role did they play?

I really like the idea of Chocobo racing and battling, that would be a welcome feature.

Really, I feel like this game has an endless amount of cool FF history to pool from. I would welcome almost any fight against any Primal or any boss's from any of the previous FF games (within reason) . Weapons would be very cool to fight. If we get to fight a weapon, or maybe even Deathgaze or something while riding on an airship, I would be very excited. Or maybe a fight against Leviathan while on a ship.

I think this game should avoid flying mounts. I don't think it would really benefit the world very well.

The nation leaders are already a good indication of what is to come job wise.

The Ul'Dah leader looks like he's dressed in some sort of Berserker outfit, Dual Wielding really big swords.

The Limsa Admiral has a double-barreled Pistol at her side, most likely a Corsair of sorts.

I'm not entirely sure what kind of a mage the Gridania Leader is, but she did erect massive barriers in a cutscene. Something along the line of a Sage.

We saw in the ending of 1.0 introducting A Realm Reborn's "movie" that Lousioux (sp?), the old man from Gridania who is no long there, definitely posesses Time Magic of some sorts.

There's also a guy on the steps of Ul'Dah who is most likely a Gladiator, but his color theme bares a high resemblance to a mash-up of the blue mage armor sets from XI.

But that's all irrelevant to what i want. What i really want to see in the first expansion is my Cities being One zone again. I've seen area's right now in 2.0 that are ten times the size of what Limsa is. I hate how it's split up into two zones.

Probably never going to happen but I would like to see a Ninja/Thief/Chemist hybrid.

Does both average DPS and minor DoT via various poison spells.

I want to see native only shadow spells that allow the absorption of both single target spells and physical damage like in XI but on a decently long timer as to avoid it's abuse. I want to be able to stack these shadows with the max amount giving me the ability to dodge even AoE spells, say 3/3 shadows.

Can cure minor statuses and has average healing abilities.

Think white mage that can dish out some decent damage and toss out some decent healing spells as well with better survivability than a whm.

Lastly, treasure hunter that affects loot drops from both monsters and treasure chests/coffers because the job might not be able to dish out massive damage or huge healing spells but **** that treasure hunter is ****.

I'd like to see areas/zones that hearken back to old school FFs.

I'd love to see a submarine as a method of transport to get to sunken caves (FF3)... or underwater Garlean bases (think FF7).

I'd also love to see a trip to the moon at some point, a la FFIV.

I think it would be really awesome if we could actually enter the Void at some point, so it would be like the ending of FFV or even FF Dimensions. Maybe base a few raids in it. The Void could be like the new Sea.
