Here's some useful information I pulled out of the Mog Station while registering, since there seem to be several threads wondering about character changes and subscriptions. Signing up now does not get you the items yet seeing as they have not set the process up yet to charge your card, but does sign you up for the service plan you selected, so the items will likely come when they get the process set up. My estimated billing date for my 180 day subscription is Sept 29, 2013 and for 180 days will cost me $77.94. Also, it seems that world transfers will be dealt with at the Mog Station as well. I am assuming that by the end of this 30 day free period we get for buying the game, they will set up to charge the accounts based on the service plan you select. I apologize if this has already been posted, but I have not yet personally seen it all in one place.

About Veteran Rewards

Veteran Rewards are special in-game item bonuses received based on how long you've had an active subscription.
These rewards will be distributed via mog letter once you've reached a certain number of days subscribed.

Rank 1
Accumulated Subscription Days: 30 days
Wind-up Cursor Minion
Fantasia
* You may change your character's appearance only once.

Rank 2
Accumulated Subscription Days: 60 days
Black Chocobo Chick
Cascadier Uniform Voucher

Rank 3
Accumulated Subscription Days: 90 days
Beady Eye
Voidal Resonator

Rank 4
Accumulated Subscription Days: 180 days

To Be Announced
Scheduled for Version 2.1

Veteran Reward Requirements

Accumulated Subscription Days

Accumulated Subscription Days" refers to the total number of days subscribed to your service account, rather than actual play time.
This total will not be reset. Selecting 30 days for your first subscription purchase will grant you the Rank 1 Veteran Rewards automatically. Purchase of an additional 30 day subscription will bring your total up to 60 days, granting you the Rank 2 Veteran Rewards.

Furthermore, purchase of a subscription exceeding 30 days will grant Veteran Rewards based on the corresponding subscription period.

Ex: Purchasing a 90 day subscription will grant the following:
Rank 1 (30 days): Wind-up Cursor Minion, Fantasia
Rank 2 (60 days): Black Chocobo Chick, Cascadier Uniform Voucher
Rank 3 (90 days): Beady Eye, Voidal Resonator

Periods of Inactivity

In the event there is a break in your subscription, the period between the expiration and renewal of your subscription will not be included in the total.

Receiving Veteran Rewards

Veteran Rewards will be distributed to all characters associated with the corresponding service account via mog letter.
* Veteran Rewards will also be distributed to newly created characters.

Precaution Regarding Rewards

Please note that Veteran Rewards will only be distributed once per character.
Square Enix cannot be held responsible should these items be lost or accidentally sold in-game. Please take care when keeping track of these items.

About Fantasia

Fantasia grants you a single opportunity to edit your character.
You will be allowed to change your race, gender, appearance, date of birth, and patron deity.
*Your starting class and name cannot be changed.

Changing Your Appearance

After using Fantasia, you will be allowed to change your appearance in the character creation screen upon your next login.
At the character selection screen, right click the character or press square to proceed to the character creator.
* Before using Fantasia, you must remove all equipment except for your main hand.

Precautions

- If you do not choose to change your appearance at the character selection screen, you will not lose the effect of Fantasia.
- When you have finished using the character creator, Fantasia will be consumed even if there are no changes in your character's appearance.
- The appearance change granted by Fantasia will not be saved until you have completed using the character creator.

About the Cascadier Uniform Voucher

So that players can receive both body and leg gear, two Cascadier uniform vouchers will be distributed.
The vouchers can be exchanged for a Cascadier uniform by speaking with Aelina, who can be found in Mor Dhona at Revenant's Toll.
* When exchanging your vouchers for a Cascadier uniform, please note there are two sets based on gender.

This is good to know. I had a post asking about this when rewards were first announced. Glad to see you don't have to start over from scratch. By the way, where are those horses coming from? I seen a few people riding them. Thought they were Vet rewards, but apparently not.

You'll get all the rewards for the amount of time you pay for as soon as you are actually charged for it. When that is would be anyones guess. If you're using a credit card, probably won't be until a few days after your free time is up.

EDIT: Sorry, few days BEFORE your free time is up.

During the Free Trial period, users won't be able to submit payments via credit card or Square Enix Crysta. Even if you set up a subscription, no payment will be processed until after the Free Trial period ends.

When that period is over, you will then be charged for the length of time you've set up and will receive the corresponding Veteran Rewards via the in-game Moogle Delivery Service.

The reason some users already have these items is due to placing time on their accounts through the redemption of game time cards. Please note that these function differently from region to region and the North American Ultimate Game Card is used to add Square Enix Crysta directly to your account instead of adding varying lengths of time.

Source: official forums TL;DR: Upon the end of their free trials, players' payments will be processed and they will receive their veteran rewards.

Unicorns are given to conjurers at lvl 30 as a reward for completion of their white mage quest.

I heard a few rumors, quite unsubstantiated, that they're considering free character transfers for the 180 day sign up, with the normal transfer rules of legacy to non-legacy and whatnot, in part to address the player die-off that always happens shortly after free trials end, and in part to help people get on their friends servers with some of the launch problems. Just a vague rumor I ran across at work that I should have saved, mind you, but one that may have merit. I signed up for 180 anyway, since I'm not really in it for the rewards, just getting the bills outta the way for months at a time, but if that rumor turns out to be true, I'll feel much better with how seriously they're taking the server backlogs and character creation halts.

Thanks for all the info, I am still a little confused though so maybe someone can clarify?

I have seen lots of players with the Veteran rewards, and if I am seeing them running around doesn't that mean that they are playing the North American version of the game that they should not have been able to access those rewards so early? How is it that they were able to access the rewards if Crysta is not instant, and subscription is not instant?

I talked to a few of these people and they say that they used a Game Time Card. Well, as far as I can tell there are only EU cards available, and usually only online. Do these EU cards work for NA players?

This is where I am getting confused. I understand the free game time interferes with Crysta and Subscriptions, but lots of presumably NA players on my server/world are citing Game Time Cards as their method and say that it was instant.

I have 24 days of free time left and I really wish I could speed it up. I sort of wish that there was no free time at all, I would gladly pay my subscription up front right now. What sort of company makes it so I have to wait to pay? Shouldn't they want to grab my wallet as soon as possible so that they have my payment before I potentially get bored? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

If someone could clarify and offer a suggestion as to how these NA players managed this I would really appreciate it. :)

Necro Warning: This post occurred more than thirty days after the prior, and may be a necropost.

Legacy players who did not purchase a new CE or PS3 version of the game and instead were running off the free copy SE sent to them only got a 14 day free trial, not a 30 day trial as the full versions of the game did. So we had to pay earlier. So we got our rewards earlier if we paid for 90 days.

Thanks for clarifying. There is a lot of mixed messages floating around out there, a lot of people saying it is possible to pay immediately and others saying definitely that you can't.

So, can anyone confirm that the EU game time cards will definitely not work for NA accounts?

Or does anyone know when/if there will ever be NA game time cards - not Crysta, game time like EU and JP have - actual, immediately charged game time cards? I called EB Games a few days ago and the owner of the store said he had no idea and that if I find out let him know because he has no idea and he has a ton of people calling or showing up wanting to buy them.

Unfortunately I cannot answer any questions about EU because I honestly do not know... hopefully someone else does.
