And he is really apprehensive and doesnt want to pay for it just yet.

I read some where that 1.0 CE holders or legacy members have a buddy pass or somthing like a World pass in FFXI... Does this exist ?

They did have them back in the day, but I'm not sure if they still work or are valid. Also I used both of mine long ago....

He should really consider waiting for the servers to stabilize anyway.
