I am still confused whether or not this is possible. Does anyone know? I would prefer to play on PC, mainly for the graphics, but I would also like to earn the trophies for my PSN account.
I don't really know a way to check this, as I don't know what would cause a trophy check. For example, I logged on botonist while playing on PC. When I logged on to my PS3, the trophy did not automatically pop. I tried killing an enemy to see if that would cause some sort of trophy check, but that did not unlock it either. I assume, if anything would unlock trophies related to the logging trophies, it would be actually logging a tree. The problem is there is no way to easily check this as the two trophies are for logging 1 spot and logging 1,000 spots. (Unless I tried logging 1,000 times on PC and then switching back to ps3 and logging one more and seeing if it pops).
Anyway, has this been discussed? Anyone know?

I have been playing since Phase3. Phase 4 is when the data began to carry over. I have played through EA and when I brought home my CE and registered it the trophies started popping. After I finished harvesting my first tree once the CE was registered it immediately popped both the trophy for one attempt and also for 1000. So it would seem to me this information is stored server-side (really not a techy but it makes sense in my head
) and therefore may carry over from the PC to the PS3. Someone will need to test it out for sure.

Nuit the Insane! - Retired Druid on Sentinels.
Ombre - Retired Dragoon/bard on Phoenix.
They will only likely pop if you earn them while playing on PS3. They wont retroactively pop from your PC status. I've had 3 bronze ones pop so far, so the system is not broken.
Canadensis, thanks that sounds promising. If you got the 1,000 log trophies without doing 1,000 logs on PS3, I assume it should work.

That's not exactly what I meant, sorry. I have only played on PS3, all of my attempts were through my PS3 but they were all before I registered my CE. One attempt after registering the CE and they both popped on top of each other. I was thinking that the game must record somewhere that I had previously been harvesting in phase 4 and EA and carried this harvest count over to launch when the trophies were released. I'm not sure if it woul be saved server side (which could mean it would carry across PS3 and PC) or if it is saved client side (more then likely all attempts would have to be on PS3).

1) PSN Trophies. Will doing trophy requirements on a PC convert to a PS3?
A: No, One trophy is, kill your first enemy, another is, join a fate. Both done on PC, not converted to PS3, but when done on PS3, I get trophy.
2) FFXIV Achievement system. Will you get credit for doing tasks on both PS3 and PSN?
A: These do exchange the information. Killing 10 enemies on the PS3 will show on the PC and vice avers. That is an "account" achievement. Unlike the PS3 trophies, that is PSN specific.
One day maybe they will sync the PS3 and PC for the trophies but who knows.

After some research it appears that trophies can be earned on PC. You just have to do whatever will flag a trophy check. For example, if you kill 10,000 enemies on PC you can get the trophy. The trophy doesn't pop upon starting the game however. If you kill a single enemy the system will check how many enemies you've killed and then will pop both the single kill and 10k kill trophies. I'm not sure how this will work regarding the main quest line.
