chocobo issueFollow

Any other old 1.0 players having this problem?

I got my chocobo Whistle from the Calamity NPC. Works fine. I can ride it around. But when it came time to get my GC chocobo (ie i beat ifrit, chose a GC and actually progressed quite a bit further since) I wasn't able to find where/how to get it. I assumed a quest would be offered at my GC, or that it would simply appear as a purchaseable item in the GC quartermaster's store. I did a little research and it appears that I should be offered the quest at my GC, presumably by the same guy who is giving me storyline quests.

If i open my Companions window, i see stats for a level 0 GC chocobo, which incidentally has my old 1.0 Choco's name. I put the Summon command on my hotbar, I buy ghysal greens, i hit summon and...and I "have not learned that action yet". So no fighting, armored choco-buddy for me it seems.

My gut tells me this is a bug but i'm hoping that i'm just dense. Anyone out there come across this issue?

Isn't your chocobo from 1.0 already your GC chocobo? Do we get another one?

But yes, if you are just talking about using your chocobo as a companion (which doesn't sound right to anyone who is a fan of Firefly) then you need to complete "My Feisty Little Chocobo." You get can get it from Docette in Camp Tranquil after level 30. It's a quick one.

basically it seems that what i thought was a bug is actually working as intended, i just hadn't come across the "make your choco into a companion" quest yet.

I assumed that since i had to do class quests for job abilities that i already had, i would also have to do a chocobo quest for one i already had. either way, thanks for the help guys!
