Send/Recieve skyhigh - LagFollow

Hi guys.

I'm playing on server Balmung and live in Sweden.
Today (30/8) has been a terrible day to play because of latency issues. At arround 4 PM GMT I noticed some latency issues. It was bearable for a while but then became unbearable. Checking the send/recieve connection status in game I was pending between 100 - 500 send (mostly staying at 450) and Recieve between 1000 up to 16.000 most of the times arround 4-6k. The result was and still is, HUGE lag.

Just wanted to know if anyone else is having this issue? I asked in game when we did a dungeon but no one seemed to be having these issues. Prior to NA prime time, it was fine and have never been this laggy before.

I agree, perhaps they are already setting up some of the software and harware required to expand the servers.

You do realize that Send and Receive in the game mean absolutely nothing in terms of latency right? THose are merely measurements of data ingoing and outgoing in terms of bytes per second. The more people around you, the higher the incoming data from the server.

If you're having lag issues that badly, it's on your end. (That's not saying there isn't lag on the servers, there is, but if it's that badly it's a problem you need to resolve).

I must be wrong then I thought the send and receive values were a measurement of how long the packets took to send out or receive; not a generation of how much information was being sent. I could be wrong, but are you sure about this? In the case it is the quantity and not the speed then you are absolutely right - if not however you're just funneling wrong information.
