that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm You Can't Access

cant be played on weekends? I played the game flawlessly on tues, wed and thursday without ANY of the login issues that everyone was having/talking about (though this was on a JO sever) however from the last 2 days I havent been able to get on at all, either lobby server wouldnt load, wouldnt updated jp character list, or the world is full (or a connection error occurred)

Id say SE fell on their sword with this one, they do all this to make the game not suck compared to 1.0 and ppl cant even pay it. I for one would take a subpar game that I can actually play over a good one that I cant play 99% of the time.

They have 49 servers and 37 of them are closed for registration.. at this rate SE would have to both DOUBLE the amount of servers they have AND significantly (double) increase the capacity of their existing ones. I bet EVERY review for this game is gonan spent half the review talking about how horribly difficult it was to review the game due to hardly ever being able to play rather than actually talking about the game itself.

"When Worlds do finally reopen after the maintenance, we expect a rush of players trying to log back in. To prevent any further login issues, we will be using the utmost caution when restarting each World. Please understand that there may be some congestion at this time." Im willing to bet that congestion is gonna last another week too (definitely wont be just a few hours for sure)

It's apparently something called Labor Day this weekend in the Americas, so people who used to have to work are now at home (You'd figure they'd have to work on a day called "labor" day) trying to login to XIV. It cant be helped. They know just as badly as you that if they were to logout this weekend, they would never be able to log back in again. So i can pretty much assure you there wont be any free slots to join till late Monday/Tuesday.

It sucks. I hear the weather is good, and that pile of old games that you need to finish is calling for you.

Not to rub it in, but I'm playing right now on an NA server. It took about 15 min to get past the 1017 monster.

So, it's safe to say that you can play on the weekend.

actually teh weather sucks... i hear thunder and see rain.. and ill be walking in it to work in about 90 mins.. would be wonderful if i could get some FFXIV time in before work but noooo, yes youre right i do have a pile or 18-20 games to be exact i still have yet to play or beat but Id rather be playing this.

As fo the link well Sept 4th Japan time is when its supposed to be fixed.. Ill say around noon (i dont expect them to do it and have it done the second the 4th hits at midnight. sept 4th noon japan time is Tuesday 10pm my time.. I get home from work 90min to 2 hours after that time which means if they did what theyre supposed to do I should be able to play flawlessly that night.. if not the end of Sept 4th in Japan would be the following morning at 10am my time and I happen to be off on wednesday and thursdays so we'll see just what SE does (or doesnt do)

It depends on your timing, I think. I played yesterday from morning until 3 AM, though today I haven't had any luck whatsoever.

I've been able to get on at different times all weekend. When I got up this morning I got back in on the 1st try. So it seems having a little luck has something to do with it.

Its called "Labor Day" to celebrate the average person that works so the day (Monday) is off for most people with most businesses closed. Regardless people would still be logged in no matter what on the weekend, holiday or not and its celebrated only America not America(s). Other country's do not observe the same holiday.

Too bad GTA didn't come out earlier, I'll have to settle for The Last of Us ~ multiplayer.

I logged in this morning after spamming loging for just five or 10 mins, played for two hours, and JUST logged out.

Same with last night, too.

People who want to play now CAN get it, but it requires a bit of perseverance.

Actually, a large chunk of people in the US who are nerdy nerds are out because both PAX and Dragon*Con are happening this weekend. My FC has exactly three people on and we're the people who couldn't afford to go to D*C this year. (Well, I could have afforded it but we had a retirement party to throw instead.)

PAX is OK. I usually only go to the parties because at least then you bump into more girls spread in amongst the sweaty nerds Smiley: cool
