How long should you wait to tell a new girlfriend that you like playing MMO's for hours-on-end?

Only if you find out the same thing. Probe (not with your 'finger'). See if she is a closet gamer. Then.... 'open the door' as we EVE folk like to say.

If I ever meet a female closet gamer I'm putting a ring on her finger. Timing might be off on that as well... =P

First date or conversation. Unless you don't genuinely care about getting to know each other and just out for a piece of A.

Better to find out where each other stand on everything right out of the gate versus finding out you don't fit together two years down the road. And lf playing games is something you are very passionate about but other person disagrees, that could lead to both of you being unhappy or spending less time together.

The bolded part can be good or bad depending on the extremes and your frames of mind lol.

I wouldn't go into that much detail until you know how she feels about games let alone mmo's in general. It shes not cool with it she will bounce if you spend more of your time on this instead of with her. At the very least don't mention hour's on end, most girls will not find that too endearing.

Maybe just say that you like to play games in your free time. Feel her out on that one, and if she isn't horrified, maybe she'll ask what type you like and you can go into more detail at that time.

Haha unfortunately my only single MMO-playing female friend isn't into dudes. But maybe someone will come around for you someday!

Whenever. It's not going to be that surprising to a girl that a guy plays video games. Just don't try to get her into it (unless she's a gamer), that's just weird.

I'm sure she's perfectly attractive to him, and that's all that matters. Nobody elses opinion matters one bit.

Don't tell her until after marriage.

It'll provide a memorable topic for your divorce settlement.

If she's embarrassed about your hobby she's not really girlfriend material. Mean while elsewhere on campus (or anywhere really) there's an attractive gamer girl waiting for you to ask her out.

Once again your desire to be argumentative got ahead of you.

His girlfriend is not a "gamer" therefore my comment had nothing to do with him or her. It was in reference to the later comments about female gamers.

Helpful suggestion: Read. Comprehend. Think. Then write/speak.

I did. I do. I am. I did. In that order. If you need pop-up pictures I can provide them as necessary.

If your serious about this girl than tell her right away. This way if she dont like it than you dont get to invested. Or she might be into it and everything will be amazing.

There are plenty of us that're attractive, really. It's just at times difficult to find open female gamers in general, and I think mostly for these reasons — we're told that we either don't exist or we're not attractive. Gets kind of hard to want to admit you're a gamer then sometimes. :c

The saying about us female gamers is that while we exist, we are

a) Single
b) Attractive
c) Sane

and you only ever meet one with 2/3 qualities.

My husband isn't a gamer. He watches too much anime. Smiley: bah

Sounds like a great idea but... in most cases its a HORRIBLE idea. If she has very limited gaming xp, and 0 mmo xp then you basically just end up babysitting a ****** who wants you to take them into dungeons and you end up having to apologize for them via tells to other party members.

And lets be honest here, ALOT of women are STUBBORN as ****!!! They dont take advice well and always think your tryin to "tell them what to do" lol.

**** maybe its just the girls I been with.. but I have had 3 different GF's play MMO's with me, and it was brutal all 3 times. A current ladyfriend of mine is playin this MMO, and she sucks.. something terrible... does saying that make me a jerk? lol

Good luck buddy!!!

Dont need too... I met my RL girlfriend from playing FFXI... We played on the Xbox and would chat over Xbox live all the time while playing FFXI eeventually it lead to video chat,,..
She enjoys these mmo's more than me.. Talk your girlfriend into giving it a try,,, Tell her she can craft and go shopping in the game..

My wife (of 14 years) is as hot as they come and she's a gamer chick. All my peers and ingame friends have said that if I even had any luck it was spent on RL and not in the gaming world.

This went around the Interwebs a few months back and sums up the two types of "females who play video games" pretty nicely.

http://weknowmemes.com/2013/02/gamer-gurl-vs-girl-that-plays-video-games/

(Earlier tonight I was screaming at FFXI "Use the primeval brew! USE THE BREW YOU STUPID TARUTARU!" I was paralyzed and couldn't get my brew to work.)
