Noob question, how exactly does rested exp work? I know it gathers when you log out but how does it become a bonus ect.. and how long does it take to acquire it ?

Experience points earned through combat, synthesis, and gathering are increased by 50% their normal value and for the duration it will show on your xp bar.
You will begin to gain the rested bonus as soon as you enter the sanctuary but the amount you get depends on how long your logged out or in the area for.

You can also log out in the Adventurers guild area at the inn and gain rested xp as well 8)

You're "resting" anywhere there's a moon icon under your exp bar

I am level 33 and still have rested xp from Open Beta. So there ya have it. 13 levels and still have it left but for a few weeks logged out.

Not sure how long it takes to accumulate, but I'm eager to see how much stacks up during the week I'm unable to play because i registered my game to the wrong service account along with countless thousands of other people, who square-enix has to go through and manually correct the issue.
