General questions about SCH healingFollow

Hey guys, can anyone explain how exactly SCH heals in this game. I heard from various people several things. I thought they had healing spells and of course the fairies. This leads me to my next question. I noticed that ACR has very low MND and was wondering if a SCH should dump their attribute points in MND or the fairy does much of the work. I'd like to play SCH as my healing job. Any thoughts of the job as a healer?

Thanks in advance for all the feedback guys.

SCH has more MND than ACN due to the job stone (basically auto-switch INT to MND sorta). SCH therefore has almost double Healing Potency of ACN. You still want to dump bonus point into MND if you do SCH only and ignore SMN. Otherwise you may want to do 50/50 because Bonus Point are fixed by class and not by job and it cost 10,000 Grand Company Seal for bonus point reset item (was rewarded one per lvl 50 job quest in 1.0).

SCH heal is different from WHM, SCH heal also buff. Likewise with the Fairies, they do both heal and buff at the same time. WHM is more heal, heal, more heal and ress.

Scholar gets a MND boost when you equip the soul. (I don't know how much *exactly*, but there's a fairly distinct stat difference.) You should still be pumping MND for it.

Because of the fairy, healing in general feels a lot more...even (I guess?) on SCH than on CNJ. Succor and Adloquium are expensive, of course, but can help create a buffer for you when tossing them in occasionally with Physick.

SCH also has MUCH earlier MP restoration options over WHM, and with how Aetherflow works, you're going to be using it constantly for the buff, regardless of the state of your MP. As a result, as long as you keep Aetherflow on cooldown, you're not going to feel like you're running out of MP unless you're spamming Succor and Adloquium endlessly, although you may find it necessary to use the Aetherflow charges on Energy Drain. With the fairy helping out on healing, you may even find yourself at the bottom of the aggro list if you don't toss out a few DoTs.

Other than the healing the fairy provides, the fairy AI seems pretty bland. You may find yourself using the support fairy over the healing fairy for the spell and skill haste buffs unless you think the regen is needed.

You should still do 100% of either int or mnd and using cleric stance from conjurer.

I did notice something. I stuck my points into mind and its 300ish. When I switch to SMN my INT is higher then my MND and its at 300ish. Ill try and take not next time I'm on.

SCH is great if you Micro manage your Faries. Eos can be a life saver if you play her right. I just PLACE her near the tank and she does the rest. This way i don't have to worry about her buffs hitting or missing the front line guys. I love that i can resurrect someone mid-fight and still order her to cover the healing during the casting time. MND and INT are odd w/ SCH but as someone previously stated, just use Cleric Stance and your fine. I find SCH to be extremely fun, some more micro-managing is required then usual but it really pays off when your DPS can just have fun with a mob because they know you have them covered.

My girlfriend said she noticed something about the fairy mechanics over the weekend. We didn't do a lot of testing on it, but she thinks that if you use /focustarget on someone, the fairy will pay more attention to that person when acting on her own. If you don't, she'll spread out her abilities more around the group. We didn't do another dungeon run after that to test it more, but it might be something to look at.

Doesn't cleric stance nullify some healing potency? I don't know how much of a factor that is, but it seems like you're just hampering your throughput on relying on this to get better MND allotment if you're stacking INT otherwise. I guess the better question is how much MND does it take to negate the determent from using Cleric Stance

The answer is turn it off. It is a toggle after all. And it reduces healing pot by 20%

I will definitely have to look into this. From the multiple runs i've done in Haukke Mansion as SCH, it appears that the faries, or Eos atleast, will cast more on the player she is closest too. I say this because i use PLACE on her and sit her next to the tank and she is very quick to cure him over the other members. I will have to test this out more, not really sure how but I will continue to run dungeons w/ her and see.

Cleric stance does kill some of it but it's not a huge hit. Assumig your INT is much higher then your MND from leveling ACN

I'm going to say the Fairy has the same AI as a PUP auto. It will heal the master first, then the person with the lowest HP second. And it wont heal at all till someone is around 70% HP. Now I have no numbers and that's just eye balling but it will not heal until that point is meet unless you give it the command to embrace.

Cleric Stance is a Toggle on a 5 sec cooldown. You can really pump out some decent nukes temporarily as long as you remember to switch back before healing.
