What are you all putting your attribute bonuses into? Is there any reason to go for anything besides Vitality?

Sure there is. You're going to be a Paladin later on no doubt. And they share the attributes with what you selected on your Gladiator.

So in preparation for that, Mind will help you with cures. Strength will help you deal more damage and keep hate more easily. Even Dexterity would be an alternative for blocking/parry rate if you dont have enough of that.

While i certainly agree Vitality is a good pick.

Gladiator and Paladin benefit greatly from a combination of STR/VIT/MND in whatever ratio you most perfer in your own playstyle.

Mind does nothing for gladiator/paladin. Until we have weapons with magic damage on them, we won't heal for any amount worth bothering with. Dex is also worthless as you need large amounts to hit the next tier of parry. Str adds a very small amount of damage, but with the mitigation part, it also requires a large amount to hit the next tier, although not nearly as much as dex. Vit gives you the most reward per point with more hp, more hp regen, better stoneskin, more from cooldown buffs, more magic damage mitigation, etc. So your only choices will be Str and Vit with Vit edging out Str. Now that's not to say you can't dump all 30 into Str and it will be a waste. It's only 30 points and at 50 that's not a huge difference. Just don't ever put them into dex and definitely don't put them into mind, that will be a complete waste of points.

I've heard a decent ratio for tanks is 3 Vit : 1 Str - that way you get a little bonus to help you with small dmg and the parry/block mods, but most of your points go into Vit, for the above stated reasons.

The math still seems to be unclear as to the benefit of each stat on a per-point basis, but I heard somewhere that 30 Vitality = 420HP. With end-game raid mobs hitting for 5k, I'll take every hit point I can squeeze out to try to survive those blasts. I am seeing MRD/WAR as the group tanks and GLD/PAL as the raid tanks, with our (supposedly) superior single-target aggro and abilities that will probably let us self-heal semi-efficiently.

I would say the main idea for GLD would be to focus on Vit, even though SE said your att. points won't really matter at end game.
