As of this post, Excalibur, Hyperion, Ultros, and Cactuar are still locked from character creation. All other servers are open to it though.

EDIT: Queue of 1 (lol) for Adamantoise first try, then accepted 30 seconds later.

I might be going crazy but..did they change the battle soundtrack?

Also this may be due to the servers just starting up and fewer people online, but I'm seeing less lag now. Here's hoping this continues to be the case throughout the day.

Keep in mind people, there's still going to be congestion, and there WILL be 1017s flying around sooner or later. SE has already told us they will be watching these servers like a hawk to make sure we don't overload them. Even though most EUs are at school/work and most NAs are either asleep or getting ready for work, there's still quite a few early birds lurking and there will be rush periods. But I'm off to work myself, have fun and good luck!

Yeah that's totally the answer...stay logged in for hours even thou your not playing just so you have a guaranteed spot...people are on ZAM to be a community and saying/doing stuff like this hurts the community.

This is bad that at 7am, people are getting 1017. The weekend is gonna be the same mess. Queue the AFKers, errr cue.

You should blame the company not the customers. Don't know why people always blame the wrong thing.

I blame the company as well but also blame those whom make it worse by keeping servers full when they aren't even playing the game...i think there should be an afk timer set at an hour personally...

My husband ended up making a character on Adamantoise because he couldn't get into Cactuar where my character is. I sure hope they offer server transfers at some point.

Remember, they said that during heavy congestion (such as right now), they would limit traffic as they did before and continually monitor it.

What they have said, though, is that more people will be able to get in.

You can't blame them when it is SE that put the fear in them.

I don't feel that the afk timer is just an excuse it makes sense whats the point of staying logged in 24/7...if i recall if u go afk even in WoW you eventually get logged out.

This me slightly worried. Granted, i fully expect there to be some que's popping up, but the fact that there are still 1017 errors showing up during the weekday work hours means its going be craptacular for the weekend. Will wait and see what happens....

The game servers are not running at full capacity, yet. They are step-laddering the amount of people who can log in in order to monitor server activity.

I only mention this as I noticed people were saying that the 1017s will continue into the weekend, which isn't quite the conclusion to be drawn as of yet. By end of business - US time, we will have a much more accurate picture of what to expect.

I think everyone are tired of all the complaining, even the ones who complain. Problem here is that SE is constantly giving new reasons to complain. They should get their s*** together so people wouldnt have to complain. Of course people complain when they can't play a game which of they paid some money.

Logged in at 5:30 am PST, got two "server full" with a queue at 7, and third try logged in successfully. Not bad.
