I was getting 19 fps in Quarrymill yesterday much to my annoyance; I've 2 x 5850 VaporX in Crossfire. It seems to me that I wasn't lagging as much before maintenance, but I can't be sure, perhaps I just didn't notice...

Anyway, a guy on my linkshell suggested the beta drivers as they helped him, I was wondering if anyone else has tired them and if they've had any problems?

I was talking to someone ingame about the lag and he/she said that they uninstalled FF from their HD and downloaded it to their SSD which they said helped 100%

Yeah, I installed the game to my SSD straight away. I'll try the driver, I can always uninstall it if things go wrong.

I rolled back because I didn't get much of a noticeable improvement but I did have two lovely BSODs that blamed the video card. Rolled back to the latest official release and it hasn't happened again since.

I never use Beta drivers, period. Not saying they can't help, but they are "Beta" drivers. Not guaranteed to work, or help.

Beta drivers are working well for me.

Are you sure Crossfire is working for you?
Crossfire isn't supportet by the drivers right now but there is a work around for it.

I experienced a lot of crashing to windows with the 13.8 Beta driver. However, the AMD Catalyst application profile upgrade made a big improvement for me.

I can't tell you what it did to improve it, but that yeah...

I'd just assumed so as I've checked the radio button on the control centre that says apply CFX to programs that have no CFX profile.

Doesn't work without profile. I tried that too.
But the link I posted works really well. Round about 80% higher FPS with 2 Radeon HD 5850.
